The 1LE pkge is a sweet track package and the Sub`s way 2700 lbs. All in all it was a blast and I would like to do it again, only next time hot laps with an instructor. Maybe I was just being a bit cautious with the RT, but when I felt like my tires might come off the rim in a turn I let off the throttle.
Hell yeah. That really sounds like fun.

My CO has an SRT8, and can`t stop talking about the Hellcat. Me thinks I`ll have one parking next to me soon.

After some class room driver education and instruction we hit the track at a max 60 mph, to get a feel for the track and then discuss in the class room. My group consisted of a 13 Subaru BRZ, 14 Camaro SS 1LE and an 03 BMW 550I, we were later joined by another BRZ because his group was too slow lol.

Side note: There was an intermediate group running hot laps which consisted of Porsche 911`s, BMW M3, Audi S4, BMW Z4, Miata (crashed) and a few other German cars with 1 lonely Camaro SS 1LE. They would hit the track after us and we would watch that Camaro kill everything, at one point he was 12 secs ahead of the group. The Camaro was completely stock except for an exhaust cut out mod that allowed all the baffles to be open all the time. Me and the other Camaro owner didn`t see any visual mods, but it could have had a tune. Regardless of a tune or not, this guy could drive and his that Camaro handled very well.
Really glad I got to read this post. The new Camaro and Charger are both on my short list of domestic cars I drool over.

    • Camaro
    • Charger
    • Ronkh`s Corvette
    • Ford Coyote V8 (only the motor dropped into a S14 240sx)

It`s an rx7 way of thinking

I drove a couple, the one thing I really don`t care for is the visibility inside. I can`t see anything! The exterior however is super sharp!

Ran the Charger at English Town Raceway Park, 13.8@ 101 with some spin. The 101 mph indicates a mid 13 sec run, like 13.5. Not bad for a full size family car that costs under 40k fully loaded.

With a car that size/weight it has to have that much horsepower IMO. I posted on LS1tech that I still don`t think that it can match a ZL1/Z28 on a road course, though a 1/4 mile it probably could if it doesn`t spin the whole time. I don`t think its going to have anything above 315 tires so the rubber will be toast in no time and hard to catch traction.

A BA cruiser is what i`d call it. Gorgeous car.

Horsepower means nothing if you can`t get it to the ground and once there...to stick. Its all about matching the components to work together, regardless of horsepower. I was at a car show and I had my 2011 Camaro next to a new 2014 5.7L hemi challenger. We hung out and I discovered his car was 4400 lbs versus my 3700, and was built on the Chrysler 300 chassis. That`s a huge weight disadvantage, but it was a gorgeous car no doubt.

Its funny...the guys liked his car over mine (the word hemi does it), and the women loved my Camaro.

    Re: 2015 hellcat challenger

10.9@131 and 11.1@130 are the 1/4 times I am reading for the Hellcat. This car was well thought out and has the tech to go with it. From what I am reading the Hellcat will perform very well.

As for myself, I will be picking up a lightly used 13 Shelby GT500 with the perf. pkg, track pack, recaro`s, nav and shaker pro audio on Tuesday. My 10 has been returned to stock and I will be trading her in. I already have a tune that should put it around 650-675 at the wheels.

At our track rental on 06/20 a 13 GT500 with DR`s ran 10.6 with a tune and CAI. I will take those numbers all day.

I love all American muscle cars and give props were props are due. I gave props to the 1LE Camaro`s in my track experience post. Given props to Dodge on 700+ HP, best looking muscle car, best looking interior, true factory ram air and some sweet tech.
