Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!

I like the second option. Gives it a more muscle tone to the ride.
As long as things can be put back to original status, I dig a little understated personalization. Save the parts. I like the second one Ron.

Dear Ron
I prefer the first one. It`s simpler and more upscale than the second one.

On the dash I`d leave the first one. The second one just wouldn`t look right in that location.
I would leave the OEM badge or a variation of it. The second option is like a picture from the specs section of the owners manual.
From the artistic point of view, the second one brings that nice shade of red/orange (I believe), into the compartment.. I have not seen the entire Interior, so I dont know how monochromatic or not it is...
If all others (corvetttes) "look" the same, I am always for looking just a little bit different - enough that only those that really appreciated and probably knew something about the car, would get...
Another example of this process is none other than Chip Foose, who has historically, taken any car, and removed, here, smoothed there, tucked in here, etc., and always ended up getting the car to look so much better, but one could not easily pick out what changed, unless they were really good at knowing the car....He has always "improved" on what the Factory originally designed...
With that said, from a color match and tasteful contrast look alone, the 2nd one could be a good thing here...
You can always tape it up temporarily/carefully, over the original taped over, one, sit in there, look at it from outside, get the entire compartment in perspective, and see what makes your heart beat faster...

Hmmm tough decision. I say follow your heart
I like the first one
