Does anyone else cringe when you see a car that needs a proper detail on YouTube?

I was looking forward to watching "The McLaren P1 Test" On Road and Track with Chris Harris last night, especially after seeing the reaction the P1 received on Top Gear. Everything was going great until I saw how dirty the lower panels were on that car.

Then I ended up on "Jay Leno`s Garage" YouTube channel and saw this:

I remember when the 2015 Mustang pics were released you could catch some defects in the pics. Regualar Car Reviews on youtube however just makes me want to give every car a good buff

Imagine yourself driving one of those...
My car I got from work looks awfull, needs a good clean / clay / polish, and interior clean, but I can`t because it needs to be fixed for some big dents and stuff from an accident from the previous driver...

Let`s just say Jay cares about what`s under the hood a whole heck of a lot more than if the hood is all swirled up!

but then and then and then

Probably a good majority of people never looked at their/anyone`s paint long enough to notice what it really looks like in the sun, for starters..

And then, they still might not notice what all those uniformly misapplied swirls, etc., are anyway...

Only car-guys/gals get it the first time.... Everyone else needs to be shown the difference...

And then, most dont really even notice/care/get depressed-excited about/lose sleep over/etc../etc.. about their paint condition anyway...

Their Dad`s/brothers/friends Dad`s/brothers/etc., didnt get it either, so they have not frame of reference anyway...

You will see them by the hundreds at any automatic car wash/manual car wash/ vacuuming out their cars every week...Doing a great job...But not really knowing or perhaps wanting to know, what a really Detailed car could look like...

Thank Goodness, there are still hundreds of thousands more that are indeed looking for someone to get their "Baby" back to or better than it looked when new !!!!

Can`t walk down a parking lot without noticing all the paint defects and brown tires with caked on brake dust on wheels of nice cars.

Well, the car is a prototype that they say has been to Death Valley and the Arctic Circle, as well as around the world about 5 times (I believe in this video they are in Abu Dhabi, UAE). This car probably was on track for a significant amount of time, either for more testing by the factory test driver, or to allow future P1 owners in Abu Dhabi and Dubai (and probably across the Middle East) a chance to drive the car before taking delivery. I doubt they would pull the car out just for Chris Harris, at least just for him at this stage of pre-production/production.

I say this because the dirt (and I can see it on the 75" LED in 1080P ) looks awfully sandy, which was probably picked up from the track. Still, I still think McLaren should have maybe wiped a bit of the dirt/sand off of the carbon fiber diffuser, maybe before they started filming! :loll:

Okay, I just wanted to stick up for the mighty McLaren (especially given their F1 season in 2013, I think they need some help. No but in all honesty let`s hope they do better in 2014! Mercedes engines look to be the ones to beat!)

Clean/polish your effing cars, Internet YouTube people!
