Window tint? How dark are your windows?

Thats what I had on my grand marquis. Well I had 15 with 5% over it on the windshield for awhile. At night in the rain it was nearly impossible, never had a problem with Omaha/State cops only small towns! I`ll never go that dark again. As for someone talking about a doctors note, I have one lol.

But for taking of illegal window tint its just like taking off regular tint, a steamer and some patience it comes off easily. For the tix i did get for illegal tint they never made me take it off and I`ve never had an accident in 13yrs of driving

I had 30% on my last car (sides and rear) and after 3+ years of driving I got pulled over by a cop having a bad day and was given a fix it ticket. What pisses me off is that in MN a car cannot have any of the side glass past 50%, but trucks, SUV`s, wagons, and minivans can come from the factory with much darker tint and it`s perfectly legal. It`s an old ass law that unfairly singles out cars and needs to be changed! I`m going with 30% again on my new car and getting a prescription for it.

I have not tinted a car since 1988. I bet the technology has gotten better but I hates the marks I got in the film where the window rollers hit it. My car was tinted Florida legal and I forget what that was but it was a White car it looked great. Definitely kept the interior coler.

My tint is starting to delaminate on my passenger window. I have heard of some other styles of tint, which are more expensive, do a better job of protecting against delamination, keep interiors cooler, etc. Anybody have any experience?

Slightly a sidebar question: What happens if your tint is legal in your home state but you plan to travel through several states? Do the laws from your home state (based on your license plates) rule if you`re just passing through a state with stricter tint laws?

Todd I just had my mom`s car done in Wincos film. It has a national lifetime warranty and it`s great looking tint. It keeps out a ton of heat. The shop had a demo with a heat lamp with their other lifetime film and the Wincos film. The Wincos film kept out a lot more heat than the other. It was expensive film but I think it was worth it since her car is dark and the heat here. She is sensitive to the sun and burns on her arms easy. When she drove my truck she would get a burn on her arm if she forgot to put on sunscreen. In her car she hasn`t had any issues since I did the tint. What`s really nice is all the different % film in Wincos blocks out the same amount of IR rays. I think it blocks out 99% UV rays.

I have 20% in the back and 35% in the front. That`s as dark as I can go legally here. 20% is the darkest Wincos offers I think.

The place to get answers from the authority on window tint a d PPF is Premier Films. I but a product from the for my film when I need to remove tar from PPF. These guys are willing to. Speak to you over the phone and they really know their stuff.

You can get by the 20% law here in florida if you have bad eye sight and a doctors note and I would think this to be the same in every state. So do your homework!
