Man, I keep reliving this event now that it`s fresh in my mind. I am so pumped for 2012! I really hope to make it back to Colorado for this event again, and I am DEFINITELY going to make it to Speedweek at Bonneville, then there is the vintage racing at Road America, and ALMS again, the monthly Cars & Coffee meets, the occasional Concours events in my area, autocross, and track days!

I`m in a serious automotive withdrawal right now. Le Sigh...

At least ice racing will be an option soon enough!

I honestly never had interest in going until I read this thread. Now its one the bucket list although it seems a shame that it is completely paved now.

Thanks for sharing the amazing photos and the experience of the event. Speedweek is something I would really like to see in person too.

Just a little off topic but I saw a movie called The Worlds Fastest Indian. It`s about a guy who is from New Zealand who wants to take his Indian to Speedweek to see what it could do. Has Anthony Hopkins as the main character.

While it is a shame that the dirt is gone, from a historical perspective, I am really excited to see what next year brings. Apparently next years event is already completely pre-registered for! People must think that a paved road will be a lot safer than dirt, but I think otherwise. 100% pavement means people can run super slicks, tighter suspension, and more effective aero packages, speeds are guaranteed to sky rocket!

    Re: My Pikes Peak Adventure

Hotel is booked for this year`s event. Only 2 months to go! Can`t wait.

And if anybody have any leads on where to stay during Speedweek at Bonneville it would be greatly appreciated! The event isn`t until mid-August but everything is booked already! Don`t wanna camp, as I plan on going there with the purpose to shoot photos, so I need electricity throughout the week to recharge batteries, run a laptop, etc.
