Getting serious now. Roll cage install on the SS

Sent out the Camaro a couple weeks ago to my buddies shop GM Precision Welding to knock out the Wolfe Racecraft 10 point roll cage install and Stroud window net. Got these pics yesterday from my buddy and I`m stoked at the end results.

Justins00ss- If that work is as good in person as it looks over the internet, you`re fortunate to have that shop available...makes me miss our long-gone local fabricator.

Absolutely man. He is as serious about his craft as I am about polishing paint. I made sure his Denali was on point before leaving my place. He went above and beyond fitting everything nicely.

Good deal. Glad to see you are doing it right and `safe` after the cage install. What will that allow you to run now?

Thanks bud. Cage will cert to 8.50 which is plenty for this. In the next year or two I`ll put together a engine and blower/turbo setup to get into the high 8 low 9s.

That’s always a difficult task with a Street/Strip car though I suspect this car is more strip than street today. Putting in real protection with some thought to ashetics, you did well. Nice job.

Yeah pretty much. But still has a full interior with power seats and stereo with 10in sub and amp.

At the current weight my builder says I`ll need 9-950whp on his dyno which is about what I figured too.

Justins00ss- Also, I think there can be a good lesson for your son there...you know, beyond the "rollcages are cool" factor he`s having "Do this stuff the safe way" (even if, maybe, it`s really just mandated by the regs ) presented to him at a young age, I really like that.

For those type of numbers, are you running an SFI bell housing and diaper, HANS device and foam padding? How much does the car make?

High compression and high flow 454 LSX with a set of mirror image turbos. Or for a budget build a junkyard 6.0 block with a few goodies and a single 88mm with high flow heads. I am not into drag racing, but have had interest kindled due to a coworker having an `03 Cobra running mid to upper nine`s making just above 700whp/tq.

Yup has a JW ultra bell on it. And no the car doesn`t run 8.50. Yet lol. No diaper. Hans isnt needed yet but do have all the required equipment, helmet, neck brace, fire jacket etc. And yes there will be foam padding around where my head will be as required.

Car made 490whp through a 4400 stalled auto and 9inch rear on a Mustang dyno.
