That falls squarely into what I call “Expletive Cold”, where you involuntarily utter expletives when you step out into it.
Sorry for crummy focus, but this was my drive in this morning. The past couple mornings have been below -20. The whole time driving to work, I can’t help but marvel that all these cars/etc are functioning.
As mentioned above, forecast for the weekend is 42° and rain Sunday (ya know, only 72° warmer!), 30°/mixed precip Monday, 18° with 1-3" snow Tuesday, 7° Wednesday, -4° Thursday...

I feel for ya dude. I could not live there in those temps. But I guess Yal have gotten use to it
Yea it was about 0*F this morning when I left work. Started the car and thought "wait, I didn`t buy a diesel?" Direct injection is super noisy in the cold apparently. The clutch was super stiff and 1st gear was being a jerk for a couple of minutes. Really surprised we didn`t get any calls last night/early this morning to jump start some vehicles.
Like Lonnie, we had numerous patches of black ice that the salt would not do anything and Penndot refuses to liquid treat anything other than I-81...

It was SOOO cold in Green Bay, WI that I saw two beagle dogs jump start a rabbit just so they could chase it.(An animal, not the VW car!)
It was SOOO cold in Green Bay, WI that when someone shouts outside, it will take until late March for the sound to thaw out and be heard.
It was SOOO cold in Green Bay, WI that the Frozen Tundra at Lambeau Field is so deep that the first pre-season game in August will be cancelled.
It was SOOO cold in Green Bay, WI that beer trucks cannot deliver beer because it freezes and cracks kegs, bottles, and cans, so some of the bars had to close. (Well KINDA true. The patrons never ventured out in the cold, so SOME bars did close.)
It was SOOO cold in Green Bay, WI that the police were receiving public reports of loud sonic booms from the ground freezing. (Also true!)

Yeah, you just deal with it cause you have to. It does make you appreciate when temperatures are more "normal winter".
Matt - you`ve also got the big temp swing! Any time it`s unseasonably warm in the winter I can`t shake the feeling that it`s just not natural...

PA Detailer - after the storm we had in S Central PA on Wednesday, I would agree...6" of snow and 1/10" of ice...Ugh. But it was then 55 degrees on Thursday. You can`t tell we had a storm. Here comes the roller coaster month or so.
Gordon
Brutal winds last night and this morning. Power was out several times.

Blizzard yesterday. Got around a foot of wet heavy white crap. Tried going down the road today to get my wife`s work computer. Got down to the curve and the snow was drifted about five feet deep. Just turned around and went back home .
