Re: Xterra going in for some rust repair.

Replacing an outer panel skin is a common body shop practice, even if they haven`t done one on this particular vehicle they should know what they`re doing. More than likely you`ll never know it was repaired

Haven`t looked on my `17 VW, but my old Jetta`s outer door skin came off with several bolts. Although they probably did that to change door lock modules easier as it was a common part back then

15 days without the Xterra. %$#@*&^ Absurd to say the least. Called Friday afternoon. Doing something to or replacing the rear handle and studs. I blame this delay all on Nissan. But since they are paying the bill, it has to be done their way.

Was wondering how this was going. Sorry for the delays. Hope your ride comes back soon.

PA DETAILER- Eh, that`s gotta be frustrating. At least you`re learning about how those guys operate...in the future I`d ask about "all required parts on-hand?" before taking it in for anything.

YEA! Repair is done. Picked it up this morning. Was clean and ready to go. The repair itself along with the paint work was impeccable. It was a long wait but that is due to the way Nissan wanted the work done under warranty. No wax for 30 days. On the hatch anyway. Washes will be fine. DONE!

Hey, that`s great! Sure glad it turned out OK after all.

Note that OCW is tested/approved for repaints (by Ford no less), and I`ve used it enough to verify that approval.
