Cole Trickle: Speed. To be able to control it. To know that I can control something that`s out of control.
Dr. Claire Lewicki: Control is an illusion, you infantile egomaniac. Nobody knows what`s gonna happen next: not on a freeway, not in an airplane, not inside our own bodies and certainly not on a racetrack with 40 other infantile egomaniacs.
Track days are one thing, street driving is something else. And honestly, I`ve seen *VERY* few people genuinely tightrope the limits of their cars on track days (and some of those have expensive memories of those occassions). Most tracks are simply too technical for most drivers to truly exploit their modern vehicle`s limits and when they do they`re actually [screwing] up despite how heroic they think they`re being.

That`s just too cool! NHRA has already outlawed it, no roll cage, net, etc. It says if they could get few more miles per hour out of it in the 1/4, it would need a parachute to run NHRA. That looks to be an awesome machine and they say it`s a street/strip car so they`re obviously not selling it with a "race car" title like the Cobra Jet and the CoPo Camaro.
I was reading about the new GT500 today. Not sure anyone really knows what it has but they did have pictures. The site that I read called the engine platform the Coydoo. So I`m guessing their using the Voodoo flat plane engine upper end (heads specifically, these things really flow well) and the Coyote cross plane crank down below with a big supercharger. All they said was it would be more than 5.2 liters. So much for the highly speculated twin turbos. Anyway they were throwing out the 740 HP number for the GT500, looks like Ford is bringing a knife to a gun fight. Seems like for the past three decades they`ve always tried to do more with less cubes, need to learn that lesson. Wonder if GM has anything to throw at the Fiat boys?
Looks like they`re releasing the 707 HP TrackHawk too.

Not Demon, but I spent yesterday and today at a friend`s shop helping work on a few Mopars. All in for performance, drivetrain upgrades.

Meh. The Demon is passé. When they come out with the Satan - then I`m buying.
