Call hospice. GM is in the death throes.
But on a side note, I did see a new Vette parked today and thought it looked pretty sweet. It was like a silvery gray with gloss black wheels.
Not like they always honor it anyways... A friend of mine just had an issue that required the replacement of his throttle body on his Malibu that was still within its power train warranty of 5 years 100k miles. He was told that GM dropped the throttle body from the powertrain warranty and he had to pay out of pocket. Not entirely sure why exactly the throttle body wouldn`t be considered part of the engine...
First that now I hear this news? A GM may very well not be my next vehicle purchase. I dunno who the heck they talk to who say that a 5 year 100k warranty isn`t a strong selling point. Cause it is for me

A friend of mine has a 2011 Tahoe. The front differential went on it. Dealership claims the damage was caused by using the auto 4x4 drive (winter roads here) after having two new tires put on the front of the truck. Didn`t change all four so according to GM this causing uneven rotation in the drive train. $3200.00. He raised holy hell and so far they are down to $600.00. He is not finished yet.

Always have a way to wiggle out of it.
For every one that negotiates it down, 50,000 just eat it

What im trying to figure out is How in the hell is a warranty not important to most people? It sure is to me.
This makes me laugh, I have a 9 year old volvo with 80k miles and vcna still covers ALL costs for known issues if you call them and complain. Gm is really screwing the pooch good, between recalls and the depreciation class lawsuit they are done. Yet, they still have money to lobby against Tesla, Ironic.
Don`t under estimate the stupidity of the masses. Most people don`t care or think about the warranty when the buy a new vehicle hell most don`t even think about what they will actually use the vehicle for when they buy it. They just want that one cause its the cool one or that one cause its a cool blue or this one here cause all my friends have it. I can`t tell you how many idiots that I work with buy big trucks or SUV`s and only use them to commute to work, but since they cant afford one new or near new they buy one with 100K + miles and complain they cant afford to fix it and its broken all the time.. Hello stupid buy a cheap new warrantied car that you can afford and will get you to and from work safely and reliably. These are the same people who buy UGG boats because they are warm and comfortable but when its cold and snowing or raining they are wearing sneakers because ugg boats cant get wet or snow on they or they will be ruined. Nice you bought expensive winter boats that cant go out in the winter SMART. They are also the idiots that can`t afford there cell phone bill but have an I Phone 6`s with internet and full of hundreds of its only a 1.99$ songs.

I think this is more semantics than anything else. If people still drive average 15,000 miles a year (it`s probably more now), then they are out of warranty at 5 years (since it`s 5/100 whatever comes first). So now they will be out at 4. And does that matter when half of the people are leasing for 3 or 4 years?
Keeping up with the Jones` or living beyond your means because of it is nothing new.
