i tend to agree. for most people it is a tool for point a to b. and most people drive what they can afford. then the other percentage it get emotional. they care and take great pride in their ride.

Re: What a Car Says About You

I don`t have the luxury of time to spend cleaning up the vehicles. My wife trashes out her Durango on a weekly basis and when I go to campus Wednesday afternoons, I take the hour in between classes to clean out her truck. There is usually enough to fill 2 or 3 wal-mart plastic baggies every week. It`s usually:

    cigarette cellophane and foil wrappers
    empty cigarette packs
    soda bottles and cans
    junk mail and useless paperwork
broken pens and chewed up pencils
    happy meal toys and wrappers
empty wal-mart baggies (thankfully I can USE these)
starbucks sleeves and cups and lids
cigarette butts that didn`t make it into an empty soda can
half-smoked cigarettes she saves and never uses
expired coupons and grocery store receipts

I take anything worth keeping and toss it in the child seat or center console. Then I clean up all the trash and toss it in one of the nearby bins on campus. Then I wipe down every plastic bit in the interior with baby wipes and do the windows with invisible glass and paper towels or newspaper. I don`t bother with the outside because I don`t have time. If I`m lucky, I can hit a self-serve car wash on the way home. I`ll try to take a few minutes to do the tires/wheels/trim while I`m there if she`s not calling and nagging me to hurry up and get home.

    Do any of them run.
If at least half of them run it does not say redneck.

we can`t judge the people on the behalf of their vehicle. because some love thier vehicle very much and maintain it very clean but some others don`t have time for all this. so it is not the right way.

That`s not to say you never can, but you can`t trust it most of the time.
    Charlie`s correct.

While a clean car may not be entirely indicative of a person is does give you a glimpse of organization, cleanliness, respect, priorities, lifestyle etc..

In contrast however if you inspect my vehicles you`d bet large sums of money that I have an obsessive compulsive disorder.....which I don`t.....now how many times did I press the door lock button?

Yep, you`d think I`d have a bona fide APA diagnosis of OCD. I`ll tell you something worse though, people I know who are obsessed with golf. Not only would they be assumed to be hopelessly perfectionistic sufferers of OCD, they`d be also be considered dually diagnosed with varying degrees of masochism. I`m glad I`m just into detailing.

I can say what people collect as far as vehicles can say something about their personality.
I personally got rid of my toy and OCD for my car. Many of the people I do work for are so busy making money the let someone else take care of it.

When I spend all of my time keeping everyone`s cars nice that they drive I lost the time for mine.
I bought something I can take off road as a release and enjoy. I don`t worry about swirls and scratches.
If I want a nice shiny car to tool around I just go get one and get paid for the work.
It would be different if keeping others vehicles nice wasn`t my full time profession.
I need my own private detailer. LOL
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

Re: What a Car Says About You

I think you can tell quite a bit about a person from what they drive and how they take care of it and add to that their driving habits says alot too.

I have met some great people who could care less about their cars though so it really doesnt tell you how nice of as person they are.

Ive also met people who take great care of their cars and they arent very nice people!
