Although most folks who have tried QEW seem to report great results with little to no marring of the paint. I`d like to get a more accurate measure of what everyone thought of the product when compared to traditional washing.

    Thanks!

...marring is attributed to the procedure/technique used.

Marring IMO isn`t caused by a product....but by a mistake by the user.....with QEW or a normal wash. I use QEW because I can go over a whole clip of a normal sized car without getting waterspots before I can dry. I use QEW inside with a hose on outside. I use the hose instead of having a second bucket. I spray all the dirt out of the mitt and wring it out everytime it gets any dirt on it. This keeps my mitt and my wash water looking brand new through out the wash. Also for extra lubrication I used FD sprayed directly on the car to prep the surface. I find it makes it just a little bit more slippery.

Do you mean you spray FD on the car before washing with QEW or do you spray it on afterwards to give more lubrication during drying?
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.

I only use QEW in the winter or when no hose it available.

I have not noticed any marring when I use QEW, I make sure to take my time and rinse my mitt very frequently, some times more than twice per panel. I can still wash my car in about a half hour which includes wheels, wheelwells, and doorjambs. As has been said before, your washing technique is what will cause marring.

I like Dinzdale`s idea, I might try that with my 3M QD.

yea any QD should work...I just have allot of FD...lol

the hose respesenting my second bucket has really helped me.....i always hated how my mitt would look terrible through out a wash....but the hose keeps it looking new....

When used properly (as instructed on the bottle) using a quality wash pad/mitt and good towels, you shouldn`t have any marring problems with QEW. Using a second bucket, a capful of QD to the mixture, etc are good ideas to give you an even larger margin for error.
