Anyone else been getting email notifications for events that are as much as months old? I`ve been getting inundated with emails from the forum over the last couple days about threads and replies that occurred long ago... is there some sort of glitch in the software?

Same thing happened to me today. I received like 30 e-mail notifications thoughout the day. All the notifications were old too.

Tell me this Charlie - I know Ben sent out a couple mass notifications to the entire Autopia community within the last couple days/weeks. Could this have clogged up the notification system?

At least I`m not the only one.... just wanted to be sure it wasn`t just my account or something.

I suppose that is possible; I wondered if maybe Ben ran a vBulletin update/upgrade/patch within the past couple days, or if one got automatically applied. Something like that would be more likely to trigger it sending out updates for old threads if there`s some bad code somewhere.

Interestingly enough I`m not getting updates for *current* threads either -- just old ones.

I e-mailed him a link to this thread. Hopefully he can look into this and figure out what is going on.

I wasn`t getting any notifications for quite a while, and now all the sudden I`ve been getting a lot. Seems to me there was a log jamb somewhere. Glad to be getting notifications again though.

I got several yesterday too. The email notification has been sporadic in the past.

I have gotten a few in the past week.

Some were from threads that hadn`t been used in a month or more. I also got the same SEMA special email from Ben twice in the past week.

    Hey guys,

We send out a mass PM regarding the Autopia get together. Unfortunately, this also sent an email to everyone saying they have a PM. It simultaneously tried to send 63,854 emails which bogged down the email. I am sure alot of those emails were bad so they kept trying to resend. I think after a set amount of tries, it does give up. Now it is in the process of sending out the backlog of pm and thread notifications.

Hopefully, it will catch up soon.
