It seems to be common belief around here that s100 is the same thing as p21s. Yet there is another poll on best waxes where there is a huge difference between votes between s100 and p21s. Which is either becuase you can only pick one and most people use the s100 .. or people don`t really believe they are the same wax.

    Let`s see...

I think the difference comes fromm two factors:

    1) The poll asked about over the counter waxes, and some consider only S100 to be OTC between the two.

    2) Some people only use one or the other - and therefore only voted for the one they use, not because they think one is better than the other.

I have only used P21s personally, so I can`t comment on whether they are the same. It seems they either are the same or are very, very, very close.

    I have both, P21S and S100.

Both look the same, smell the same, aplly the same, and from my perspective shine the same.

Couldnt be fussed on which one i use.

Thanks Guys, now I don`t have to get some P21S to find out. I`ve been using S100, and have wondered if indeed they were the same. It was like trying to decide if I would rather sit in the waiting room, or wait in the sitting room..JK...

No one will ever know the answer to this question unless they get verifiable proof from BIS or commission a spectrochemical analysis and post the lab results for all to see.

Until then, use whatever wax you like best. Both are excellent.

Hmm.. I wonder where that thread is and the guy who said that a distributor made the claim they were not the same.. I`m sure he said CMA was the place. Let me see if I can find that reference...

I think the only reason some use one more than the other is because of availability. S100 is available locally for most people and its 10 bucks cheaper than P21S. Other than availability and price I can`t find any other differences other than the color. Application, durability, appearance, etc. all are similar.

My S100`s color was closer to the P21S you have pictured, Jngr.

The color changed recently. That is a new jar of S100. If yours is from a few months ago then its probably more white. Maybe they finally found some way to tell them apart. Otherwise they could have been pouring S100 into P21S jars and nobody would have known the difference.

I recently purchased a new jar of S100 and the color is different from the old jar I have which is the same color as the P21s that is pictured. I would think that a new jar of P21s would be the same color as the new jar of S100. I feel the only difference between the two is the $10 price difference.
