Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

As news seems to travel fast, I thought I would touch on this as most of you may have questions.

Proper Auto Care, or Classic Motoring Accessories will be closing their doors at the end of this month. They are having a liquidation sale for the rest of their in stock inventory.

Out of respect for Jack and the rest of the staff, Autopia-Carcare.com or any of the other PBMA stores will not be price matching their liquidation prices as they sell off their remaining inventory. Price match policy will still hold true for regularly price items. See our policy details for more information on that.

As mentioned on other forums, Terry Freidberg and Max had a relationship way back to where they owned Pinnacle Car Care line jointly, to recently supplying CMA with some of their product lines.

CMA has had a great impact on how the car care industry stands today. Autopia Car Care and the rest of PBMA extends our thanks and best wishes for everyone at CMA.

It sure is tough news for those who have been in the car care world long enough to know the history.

Best of luck to the team at PAC/CMA in any future endeavors.

I had heard rumors they had financial issues.

I just never seem them to market like other web sites which drives business.

I bought my first premium brands from them way back in the day. Sad to see them go.

I know what you mean Nick. I think some of my first detailing product purchases were from CMA. Klasse AIO and Klasse SG.

Wow a sad day indeed... As a member of TID as well I am surprised by this as well as everyone else.

But I will say this event pushed me over the edge and I broke down and bought a FLEX PE14-2-150. One mans loss is another mans gain.

I know you have been teetering on that rotary. Glad you finally pulled the trigger.

Have they said what is happening to that forum? That`s one I haven`t been on much at all...

Awesome, congrats on the purchase. That was a great deal.

I came awfully close, but I think I`m going to hold out and go for the new DeWalt DWP849X at some point instead. I`ve already got a Flex 3403 rotary.

The other issue is that when I calculate the price even with the 25% off, the shipping cost kills me. Just don`t know that I can justify a $300 order to make the shipping free, but I might change my mind. I`ve already got enough cra...er...stuff to last me a mighty long time as it is and I`m running out of room for my inventory.

They have not yet officially said anything more than that the PAC site is closing down. (I did notice that there was no mention of the Blackfire site in the announcement.)

Also I have read over on DW that the European vendors have been informed that PAC is closing. Polished Bliss released a statement that the Blackfire line will still be produced as normal and there should be no supply issues. But the Eimann Fabrik line will most likely be discontinued for good.

Well I don`t know if they still have them in stock but to get to the free shipping you would only need to have the polisher and $16 worth of other stuff.

Re: Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

PAC is being mum. My guess is they are trying to sell the stock at 25% and maybe even 50% before selling the remainder at 10% to the final buyer. If the company was sold they would have to absorb the debt.

I am sure Max would not mind getting the BF line but I am sure there are some buyers since PAC obviously does not make it but sources from one or more blenders like Four Star.
