Well I hope someone picks up the Blackfire line. It`s an excellent sealant.

Re: Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

Saw this posted on another forum:

Will PAC raise from the dead? No. This is the end of PAC/CMA as a company.

Did Jack try to sell the company? I`m not at liberty to discuss.

Could a few members try to purchase the company? I have no idea.

    Will TID survive? No.

Will the Blackfire Line live on? I hope so. Multiple people and companies to my knowledge have expressed interest in the line, but I am not really privy to any information besides that.

Will Jack allow TID to be archived? I have no idea as Jack has so much on his plate right now I am not sure if this is even a thought of his. I will ask however. Believe me when I say that Jack is passionate about all fronts of detailing and I am sure (given the time and opportunity) he would hate to see the knowledge shared by so many great and knowledgeable people on this forum disappear.

This will certainly mean traffic on other forums will pick up once TID goes silent. Does AF have any plans to recruit the refugees?

No we really won`t "recruit" anyone. However if they choose to check us out they are more than welcome on AF.

    No recruitment is needed.

The shills have already shown up at TID and posted links to competitive forums and stores.

I make a motion that those shills be banned from their respective sites.

I guess the European Vendors were lucky to be given notice as I wasn`t given any notice of this until I discovered this today as they owe me $$$ in back invoices..and I`ve been supplying them since 2008.

Wow, (no pun intended), but where have you been? The closing has been discussed on every auto detailing forum since it was announced.

I see PAC`s site(s) are now down, with the mysterious exception of the Four-Star site.

Also appears TID is still alive sort-of.

Re: Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

Let`s see...I`ve been chasing down customers to pay their invoices, keeping my 3,000sf detailing shop running to pay my employees, supporting my family working 7 days a week from 6am to midnight everyday, my 7 year old son has been living with me since June and going to summer school, I just got my wife back from overseas who was wrongly banned and detained by the United States while she traveled to her dying mother..took me 2 lawyers, years of pain and suffering to get the US Immigration to admit they made a mistake...

Some of us spend more time actually have a life outside of the forums working and running their businesses than talking to others about detailing.

The bottom line is that I was a good supplier for CMA/PAC and they screwed me over. They should have informed me and not expected me to find out through the forums. I`d been dealing with Felix ever since they picked me up in 2008, I don`t know what happened to him.

It appears to just be a landing page, as all links point to their main store which is down... but it`s odd they`d leave this up unless someone just forgot it was even there.

I thought this was the new TID?
I`ve heard this is the old Detail City, AutopiaForums, the new TID... I can`t keep up anymore

Some of us spend more time actually have a life outside of the forums working and running their businesses than talking to others about detailing.

Perhaps we should stop coming here then? Then we won`t be wasting your time or the time of the other vendors.

If you`re chasing money, I suggest you do a better job of running credit checks, payment history, etc. That`s good business skills.

But please, don`t let us keep you from your work. You are too busy to be bothered by this place.

I`ve worked hard all my life and have built up exceptional wealth. Someday, when you have time, I`ll show you how to have multiple income streams that flow in even while talking on the detail forums.

Well that was out of line and uncalled for....

It might do you some good to remember that your post is being read by potential buyers of your products (provided you don`t offend them).

There are some of us who feel our participation on forums is an important part of running a business -- not only for marketing our services but also because staying on top of new trends and practices allows us to offer nothing but the best to our customers. If you feel that forum participation is unimportant to the success of your products, that`s fine, but don`t sit there and bash people who value it. Not cool.

Re: Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

Dude relax, no need to be so defensive.

You asked me where I`ve been since "The closing has been discussed on every auto detailing forum since it was announced."

So I told you..and it wasn`t directed at you. But it`s true..I spend more time talking to customers face to face and on the telephone and through emails and working on cars all day trying to put food on the table and I frequent a few forums I sponsor before I pass out each night.

If you take my answer personally, then that`s your own issue. How about keeping this thread on track?

Re: Classic Motoring Accessories Closing their doors.

I never said that forum participation is NOT important. I`m a sponsor for 5 other enthusiast forums and only have time for really 1 or 2 of them to answer questions regularly.

I think my post is being misinterpreted. I think forum participation is VERY important both to the business and learning about the business, but there is a difference between detailers that spend more time on the forums talking about detailing than detailers that spend more time actually working. Sometimes things get super hectic around the shop and I just don`t have the time or energy to check the forums to see who is going out of business. It`s been over a month since I`ve been able to really get on anything other than FaceBook..not because I think I`m superior, but due to time allocation.

    Simple as that.
