Banned Members Returning to Autopia

Dear Autopia.org members. In case you havenâ€™t noticed, over the last few weeks weâ€™ve had dozens of old members re-join our community. To put it to you as honestly as possible, many of these people were banned from our forum at one time or another for undisclosed reasons. Our administration has been hard at work for several months working behind the scenes reviewing the long list of banned members and have come to the conclusion of lifting many of their bans. Weâ€™ve not only read and cross referenced through thousands of their posts, but also the journals of our private moderator forum in search of an acceptable shred of evidence to assist with our new found decision. After this review, we feel there is no plausible reason to warrant the continuance of their banning from the forum under our new belief system. With our new stance weâ€™ve chosen to take a totally open door policy to discussion and we truly feel this makes our forum very dynamic compared to all others. Moving forward, we endorse and encourage people to discuss all types and brands of products and processes as long as it remains within our rule system.

In case you werenâ€™t aware, our forum changed ownership approximately 2 years ago and the way itâ€™s now managed and its focus is totally different than how it was previously. Many (especially these banned members) have been quite pleased to find that David Byron is no longer involved with our forum in any way, shape or form! We would like you to know that we are working hard to build new relationships as well as patching up prior ones. Another thing that many may or may not know is that the prior administration had a tendency of deleting/editing posts and banning members due to their affiliations within the detailing industry. We do not wish to place any blame on the Moderators that were in charge at the time of these peopleâ€™s demise as the decision to ban these people were ultimately directed by and under the custody and care of the Administrator. We find many of these practices appalling and we are doing everything possible to rebuild peopleâ€™s trust in us. We find it very unfortunate that several were banned from a forum that they obviously spent a great deal of time building up. And for that we at Autopia would like to say thanks. Moving forward, we would like to personally apologize for the prior administrationâ€™s actions and would hope that they at least consider our efforts at face value. At any rate this message may straighten out and update peopleâ€™s perception of us. I look forward to everyoneâ€™s future participation!

If you have a snowball chance in hell of pulling this site out of the ditch it is currentally in, you absolutley MUST end this ""elitism" that has and still does exist here. Its crazy obvious where you failure lies

This site from what I understand use to be tha $hit. I never saw that myself, all I`ve ever witnessed was a big steaming, stinking pile of monkey $hit; and this goes for the previous owners as well as the current :hat:

Heck, I couldn`t even get my re-introduction past page 1 before being attacked because one of your "senior members" here has some kinda issue with me that for the life of me I don`t understand :twitch:

1)I`ve always left postive comments on his work

2) Tried sending him business whenever the oppurtunity presented itself

3)Publicly gave him credit for being the very first person to broadcast live detail feed via the web. For this I get assualted. Gee, really makes me wanna logg back in after a hard days work and enjoy myself. Sounds like a super fun

4) I`m almost 100% sure I wished him a Happy Birthday this past year. May have even very well started the thread unless Angelo beat me to it

I just don`t get it. Help me to understand. It just can`t be this hard to talk wax :hairpull

Another thing. If this thread gets deleted, I`m personally going to travel up and pay a visit to whichever moderator does this :plane: Enough of that non sense too. Its time to swallow you bitter pill Autopia. It will make you better in the end. I promise...

PS...there is one name I see missing on your list :yo:

Flash, you have gone out of your way to comment negatively and bash people since you got here. You have pressed every rule we have and resorted to insulting many members and moderators. Its as if you are asking to be banned.

We have already send you several warning via pm.

In following with our rules:

Rule Infraction Enforcement

We`re all human. We all make mistakes. However, pushing the house rules to the limit will only be tolerated for so long. Therefore, chronic and severe violators of AUTOPIA.ORG rules will be warned, put on a time-out, or completely banned based on the severity of the violation. We will apply rule enforcement as follows:

1. Warning: Minor rule infractions, such as soft bashing, free-posting, signature/avatar issues, etc.

2. Time Out: Heavy bashing, being a hot-head, soft spamming, bad language, posting inappropriate materials, etc.

3. Banned: Blatant spamming/selling, attacking forum moderators, pornography, racial/sexist/threatening posts, trolling, fraud, liable/slander, multiple accounts, etc.

Giving you a one week time out now is not an "elitist" thing to do or a way of singling you out. We are following the rules of the forum. Bashing of members will not be tolerated. Blatant insults of other members will be removed. If you cannot accept that, this is not the forum for you.

I appreciated the email, apology and reinstatement, I just don`t visit forums very often as of late. I enjoyed most of my time spent on Autopia, and feel that era has withered somewhat. Not just on Autopia I`m referring to detailing forums as a whole and maybe that`s the reason for the decline in intrigue; five years ago there were fewer forums, and most of the contributors and owners of new sites were active members here. It was much more of a melting pot of experience and personality. I don`t know if it can be like that again (at least for me) but I`m willing to keep my eyes open and find out.

Thank you for re-opening the doors to Autopia, and for your heartfelt post.

I know some of the people on your list, and am not confident they`ll come back, but offering them the opportunity to come back is very generous of you.

As you can tell, some people were banned for very good reasons. I can tell you guys are doing a wonderful job of managing the forum, so all I can say is Keep Up The Great Work.

Like most of the people on the list, I`ve moved on to other things in my life, but posting on detailing forums is enjoyable when I have the time. I`ll contribute here whenever I can.
