They changed it because David had hacked it so much you couldn`t start topics with integral words that are part of normal discussion revolving around CARS. Also vbulletin 4 can use tapatalk for

mobile browsing and much more. This will be a good change with time.

I had a reply typed out but I somehow lost it. Anyway DavidB did so much hacking that you couldn`t start threads with words common to detailing such as "car". A fresh code base and new features such as tapatalk make this a good move. Give it time.

Oh yeah and resizing text breaks the formatting because the browser is overriding the programmed formatting for the pages.

If Autopia 1.0 was crafted over 9 years of "tweaks" as you say, and people were happy with it (I sure was, and I don`t know why anybody would not have been happy with it), then why bother going to a completely different format?

Does the term "if it ain`t broke, don`t fix it" have any meaning to you?

And thanks for confirming that if you increase the font size, it does, in fact, screw up the formatting.

    Bring back the old format.

    Please.

Sorry, but the truth of the matter is that if it stays like this, I will be posting here much less. There are many other detailing forums that have a better layout that use VBulletin.

    Again, with you.

And I don`t really post a lot to begin with unless I feel I can help or to really give some nice comments if something stands out...

The "industrial" look is what made the forum visually focus on the topic at hand, not the layout. But really its clear autopia`s new owners are trying to compete with the giant that is Autogeek so considering everything like I said is about business, its not really a surprise

Well, my 2 cents is that I don`t like it at all.

The layout looks horrible on my 24" monitor. I much prefer the prior layout.

    Im with Rob.

Its very hard to not notice how much it takes the focus away from the forum and how much focus it puts on it looking like a store front. The simple decrease in the topic bars is a good indicator.

With everything online now being about a business these days ,it seems like "Autopia" is now trying to be a direct competitor to Autogeek(esp considering they are dropping sponsors) and unfortunately for the members is beginning to take away from the community feeling and focus more on "sell sell sell" and less on the knowledgeable members helping the new members get going.

You see it on all the other forums too, people just try to market everything to everyone else, some are just not as smooth as others about it. I have seen a ton of hyped products that just end up being an average result for a slightly more expensive price. Oh what commercialism has become..
