Absolutely NOT. I`m a relative newbie to detailing. Detailing used to mean taking some dishwashing liquid (or [gasp!] Tide powdered detergent) to wash, Dupont No. 7 compound on a single stage (1 coat of paint) on a car, then Simoniz wax.

The concept of claying, microfibre cloths, PCs, etc. was all new to me in 2004. Not to mention the purchase and use of all manner of chemicals to get the job done.

IMO it makes you secure enough in your self-esteem that you don`t worry about what some idiots might read into Volvo ownership :xyxthumbs

fubar61- Nice to see a sexagenarian on here. Heh heh, wonder how many youngsters know from "fubar"

Wide Slip Angle- And to think that I gave the wagon away It was a lot cooler than the minivan I haul the dogs with now but at least my niece-in-law simply loves it and keeps it waxed with 845 (bet it`s the coolest Volvo wagon in Memphis). And hey, an 18-year-old could do a lot worse than a Corolla, at least I bet you`re not wrenching on it all the time.
