    Flex 3401 Powering off ???????

I have owned this for about 8 months, recently it started powering off, then it takes about 5-10 minutes before starting up, anyone else experienced this? I check the power cord...no problem...checked extension cords...no problem....and its not like I am running it high speeds for hours upon hours....could it have already worn out, I do 5-6 details a week, but dont always use the Flex...I have several machines.....any solutions?

If the 3401 has an overheat sensor/switch, I`d put my money on that. Water probably got into the electrical.

Also, kinda dumb but when was the last time you greased it ?

My bet is the cord. I use to be real bad about winding my cords up wrong. Now I let them flow the way they come from the factory

That should be covered under warranty shouldn`t it ? Or should I try to fix it myself ? Shame you pay that amount of $! And 8 months later it tears up.....

I`m not sure of their policy. I am a RUPES man

Why not just run it over to Clark Electric @ 4157 Park Blvd Louisville KY and let them fix it. Or you could take it to Electric Motor & Repair. They are located @ 743 E. Main Street Louisville KY

I also think its in the cord, right where the sheath is and it goes into the base of the machine handle.
If you would get it to run on the bench at whatever speed, then start wiggling the cord back and forth at the base of the machine and at the plug end.. Those to places take the most abuse from over-crazy-tight-cord winding...
I never ever wind cords tightly... Seen what happens to them when wound like that...

    Good luck..
