    Swirl finder light

I cant find the traditional brinkmann everyone uses, so I was wondering if this would work as a swirl finder handheld?

It would work fine, but you would need to stand back away from the panel to really see the defects. I`ve found that LEDs work better at a distance, as opposed to the Brinkman, which you can get really close with and still see the swirls.

Costco has Duracell 500 Lumen single LED diode lights that run around 2 for $20 and are fantastic. As for the Brinkmann I`ve gone through two and both burnt out and stopped working within a month.

I won the FLEX Swirl Finder light at the giveaway from AutogeekOnline, and when I receive it I will do a comprehensive review and post it here. What parameters would you like me to test, in particular? I mean, there are only so many shots of swirls that you can do, so what else do you all look for when buying a light. I want to do a review that will allow people to make an educated decision on a flashlight - not something that is poorly put together just to fulfill the obligation when the giveaway took place.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! Please either post to here or PM.

I just want to see how "obvious" it makes the swirls appear and the amount of paint the throw from the light can focus on.

Rupes also has a very good swirl finder penlight.

I don`t detail on a large level just family and friend so I`m looking for cheaper alternatives. Although the flex light isn`t to bad however 70 bucks for the rupes is ridiculous.

I just got one of the Flex lights. I am pretty impressed with it. Fits very nice in your hand, excellent construction, and very bright. I also like the fact that you can adjust the beam.

Looks like the flex is getting some raves. I`ve never used a dedicated handheld light just a small work light, and the sun. I want something relatively inexpensive and good quality.

Anyone know where to get bulbs for the brinkmann dual xenon? I have used mine a total of 5 times and one of the bulbs is already blown. These things are pieces of junk.
