Cleaning the Zap (Glass Cleaning) Towel

A couple members asked me to show how well the new new Wolfstein`s Zap Cloth Cleans. You can read my review here.

Here is the Zap Towel after cleaning my filthy windows.

I filled my kitched sink with about 2 gallons of warm water and added a half scoop of BLACKFIRE Advanced Microfiber Pad Cleaner & Restorer. I put the Zap Cloth in the sink, squeezed it to massage the solution "into" the towel, then let it soak for 15 minutes. Here is the results after rinsing it out.

Then I let it dwell a little longer and really worked it in the solution (folding it in half and rubbing the faces against each other). I rinsed it out, then emptied the sink and filled it with just water so I could flush any residue out. The end results

The Zap Cloth feels perfectly soft, and in a quick test, 100% of the performance is back.

Wonder if you can just throw it in the washer? Then air or dry on low?

I believe there are other versions of this towel, as Wolfstein makes no bones that this is their labeled version. We are excited to have it, because once you use it, you will no longer fight with streaky glass again.

I have machine washed mine a few times. They have come out of the dryer better than new thus far.

I will have to try these. Were you able to just wash these with regular detergent in the washing machine?

I would recommend using a microfiber-based detergent OR something that is scent/fabric softener free. You don`t want to chance using a soap that could leave behind a residue that would cause streaking.

So, what`s the magic cure to keep this from streaking? Every time I`ve used this when looking closely you can see very slight streaks that look like water has dried on the glass. Do I need to use distilled water? I use the cloth very very slightly damp.

Did you wash it out thoroughly when you first bought it?

Todd, what if you don`t have the BF MF cleaning solution?

Do you think soaking in regular soap like laundry would work?

According to the manufacturer, wash with laundry detergent or hand wash with dish soap. Rinse thoroughly.

    Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

Yes, as long as it doesn`t have anything that coat the material (like fabric softener or perfumes).
