Wheel cleaners, paste waxes and APC`s, pure polishes (no protective ingredients) should be fine but I would bring in your liquid waxes/sealants, shampoos, tire gels/sprays, etc.

    WOW, 29 in San Diego!!

It depends where the products are being kept.... I`ve seen the outside temps be as low as 22 but the temp inside the garage is still above 40....

Even inside my truck I`ve had a bottle of water and no ice whatsoever..

    What`s the extended forecast?

Same here. Since my garage is attached and under heated space, it rarely drops below 40 or so even when well below freezing.

If your stuff is in a garage, just get a cheap small space heater and run it when its cold. It will bump the temps up at lease 25 degrees so it`s safe.

It is suppose to get down to 26* here in Phoenix. I have brought all my stuff into the heated laundry room off the garage.

Agree. I turn mine on in the garage, rarely, when the temps dip below freezing. Not necessarily to protect any chemicals I have, but when I go out there barefoot to my beer fridge!

I have a "radiator" type heater that I put in my detailing trailer overnight, to keep the chill off the chemicals. Plus it`s a closed heater where there is no exposed heating elements.

Thanks everyone!Everythings in my storage shed that is attached to my house. I dont have heat in my house except for a space heater and I dont run it at night when Im sleeping so I guess I will bring a few things inside.

Weather is warming up after tomorrow so hopefully its just for a night. I really wont like looking at detailing products in my place!

Thank God my customer told mew to use their hot water today! This cold streak is for the birds!

I may have to move to Florida for the winters if this keeps up!

Re: Freezing temps and detailing products

How do you guys know if your products are ruined from a freeze?

Im pretty sure they were already exposed to a night of freezing , as I was not paying attention to the night temps forecast.

I shook them all and they look fine.

The car I detailed yesterday was entirely covered in frost at 9:00 AM!At first I thought something was wrong with it and looked like clearcoat failure until I got closer!

My daughter plays college basketball, her school is about 70 miles from where we live. We drive out and watch her games. On the way home the other night it was -11. That`s as cold as I`ve seen it here this year. This one would definitely eliminate more than a handful of good products.

Most often the product separates and becomes somewhat chunky or lumpy. Try as you may it won`t remix or blend to its original consistency. I`ve never had this happen with 1 or 2 freezes and most products freeze at much lower temps than 30 degrees....

    You`re fine girl.....
