Had a beautiful 70 degree day so I got my tired butt out of the house and did a full two bucket wash on my 370Z. If the weather holds up I`ll put a coat of Synergy on her tomorrow. Got to love 70 degree days in January!

Got the XTERRA state inspected this morning. No issues. Always a good thing. And gave it a much needed interior detail and a good bath! It took a beating the last couple of weeks. Wow it was beyond dirty!

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I washed the wife`s car yesterday using AF Avalanche foam then CG CWG and then applied Pinnacle XMT spray wax today. On my daily driver, I used Avalanche, them washed with AF Lather. I missed a section (was washing in a different order) so I came back with Meg`s D114 to fix that. I then applied Prima Banana Gloss. I would have thought something called Banana Gloss would smell like bananas but Prima does not seem to be into scents. All the tires were dressed with Mothers Reflections Tire Care and glass cleaned with Spray Way. Jambs were done with UWW+.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I followed up yesterday`s wash of my 370Z with a coat of PBL Synergy. I bought the Synergy on Autopias Black Friday Sale for half price. This is the first time I`ve used it. Applies like any other paste wax. I was a little disappointed with the supplied yellow applicator. The applicator kind of fell apart upon use. It was not near the quality of the applicator that comes with Blackfire BlackICE Hybrid Wax. For the price a decent applicator should be included. I am happy they did not spend any extra money on another silly hardwood box!

Just enough time on Saturday to try out CG Citrus Wash & Gloss as a touchless winter road grime remover:

    (sorry no before/after photos)

Paired with my foam cannon, CW&G allowed to dwell for ~5 minutes, followed by a pressure washer rinse. I was honestly surprised how effective CW&G was at knocking off the road grime. I highly recommend it.

Hey Al, where are you getting AF Avalanche from? The place in New Jersey? I missed the boat on picking up Avalanche when AG carried it. I will say, Chemical Guy`s Citrus Wash & Gloss impressed me with it`s dried up salt/ road grime removing abilities.

Yes but I got it a while back. I typically use CW&G at 1 oz per 2 gallons or so and does a great job in cleaning.

I probably need to do a side by side. Avalanche did not remove all the sticky crud on the lower sides but did better than pressure wash rinse alone.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

After driving 4 hours round trip to my "local" VA hospital I decided to wash my wife`s car. I used Hydro2lite on her car a month ago and happily report the Hydro2 is beading and sheeting just as well as it did when first applied. I tried out some Carpro Reset soap in my foam gun and had an amazing amount of thick suds. The directions say to use 400 to 1 ratio soap to water so I used less than I normally do and still was very happy with the suds. Carpro really has some winners. I encourage anyone who hasn`t used the Carpro line to do so. Their stuff is great.

I thought it needed the water to change the properties of the silica from hydrophillic to hydrophobic?

I can try this today actually for you..fixing to wash the frontier since i have the day off.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I use hydro2 as spray and wipe or spray and rinse, either or works I feel like the spray and wipe lasts longer but tends to look a little streaky haze till first wash (i think it takes a full day to cure all the way out as it does it seems to re haze up). I dilute it in between 5/1 and 7/1 depending on how much is left over in the spray bottle when i remix new batch. I like higher dilution so I can use more sprays per panel when I do spray and rinse. I like doing 3-4 sprays per door or quarter panel (4-6 hood and roof) then rinse then check for missed spots usually need 1-2 more sprays you can see where it is not applied by the beading characteristics.
