Got halfway done polishing a new Chrysler 200 Convertible which looks like it`s been sanded... unbelievably bad paint for only 24k km. Pretty hard clearcoat too!

Had a customer come by at 2:30 this afternoon asking if I can do a full detail on his 2014 Q5... I said sure, when do you want to bring it in... he said well I`m heading out of town at 4 so now would be good...

    LOL.

    ChallengeAcceptedBlackTextSS.png

We ended up settling on a good wash and clean inside & out.. and once we had it in the shop I did the fastest polish I`ve ever done. Complete car including bumpers in 20 minutes. Literally 2-3 minutes per panel, with my new Rupes LHR21 just mowing through... used an AIO polish and wax so after doing the interior, wheels, wheelwells, engine bay, etc, we finished in 1 hour 30 minutes. Done by 4. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

He was blown away at the results, we got some extra money in the bank, all was good!

Deserved that end of day beer today

Nice, that`s blasting through it. So did you use an all in one and a wax?

Should add a rush service to your business, 1.5x pricing or something.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Well didn`t get around to polishing and Blackfire Coating this weekend. However did do a wash on Saturday morning followed by coating the door pillars and front grill with OGC. Then Sunday morning pulled the rear wheels, cleaned barrels and faces and protected with Reload. Cleaned and scotch guarded the carpet material in the wheels wells, cleaned and coated all the plastic in the wheel wells with OGC and cleaned up A-arms and struts.

Saturday morning wash. Vertical side panels only have 4 week old NanoShock on them right now. Still looking good......

2 Coats of CQUK on hatch. Water trying to hold on......

OGC x2 on roof. Sheeted off very well.

Special custom coating block made just for the grill and pillars

    Leveling out high spots

Grill all done and looking good (regular wash didn`t get all the bug splatter off and got a late start)

Pillars were in rough shape after only a few months of owning.

    Before

    After ( a little better)

    Sunday (Wheels off)

    Before filth

    Looking much better now!

I wish I would have gotten a picture of the wheels but you guys know

    (insert super clean wheels here)

Blah blah blah lots more work to come. The End

    Thanks for looking.

Think I`ve only used natural look once, don`t remember now. I just normally reach for bnb for tires and natural look for inside.
Just old habits are tough to get rid of I guess.

I pampered the SRT8 today and had the paint thickness checked.

    Interior:
    · APC`ed dirty parts (cup holder, petals, etc.)
    · APC`ed winter floor mats and scrubbed clean soap & water (applied 303)
    · Quik interior detail spray for the majority of the interior surfaces
    · Leather cleaner on the seats
    · Brushed and Vacuumed carpets
    · Applied leather conditioner/serum
    · Windows & Mirrors with glass cleaner and glass Microfiber
    · New air freshener (new car smell)

    Exterior:
    · Pressure rinsed off
    · Washed (4 buckets w/ grit guards, chenille wash mitt, wheels /w another wash mitt & wheel brush, grill & emblem done with a boars hair brush)
    · Flood rinse (hose no attachment)
    · Quick detail mist on the waffle-weave Microfiber drying towel (drying add)
    · Trim & tire dressing
    · Polished exhaust tips

I forgot to mention yesterday I also did the wiper cowl on my wife`s CR-V. Huge pita. I removed the wipers to make it a little easier though.

it rained yesterday. So I used some detailing spray for lubricity and got all the water spots off the G. I did a full wash Saturday and she was still clean, just those darn water spots.

I finally got to use some Butter wet wax Saturday too, def a deep wet look afterwards!

Took off winter wheels and detailed the 4 wheel wells. I must say it took much longer than expected (1-2hours per) and my wheel brush is caked in grease/oil from rustproofing. I finished off by mounting my 20inch Alcoa wheels (perfectly cleaned over the winter, layered with sealant and topped with 845 wax). I finished too late to take pictures (2am) but I`ll definitely go for a cruise and get some shots today.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Picked up a new set of wheels for my daily driver on Thursday. Took almost a year but I went with this wheel. My tires had been in the garage for almost that long waiting for a set of wheels lol.

I cleaned up the tires and prepped everything for them to go on this weekend.

Tires are dressed with Meguiar`s Ultimate Black Tire Coating and the wheels have been coated with Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating.
