Not going to lie, the first panel was a little nerve racking. I don`t care how many you have done, that first pass is always a little stressful. Unigrit papers continue to impress me every time though.

I rinseless washed the wife`s car with Blackire Rinseless. It was raining outside so about 115% humidity in the garage.

    Products used
    • Blackfire Rinseless Wash with Duragloss wash mitts (used 6 or 7)
    • Pinnacle XMT Spray Wax - no issues buffing
    • Jambs and wheels cleaned with Mothers Spray Wax
    • Tires dressed with Wolfgang Black Onyz Tire Dressing

Yesterday washed my daily driver, IronX, CG butter wet wax topped with Collinite 845 on roof, hood and front fenders. Rest of the car done with 2 coats of just 845. Windows cleaned with 1Z Einszett Windscreen Clear, windshield and back window coated with RainX. Side windows need to have water spots removed before coating.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Due to time constraints, I`ve been working on my car in steps: 2011 Subaru Outback, sky blue metallic. Yesterday was the finale, the roof and pillars (I`d previously prepped the hood, doors, rear hatch, bumpers, etc): hand wash, two-bucket method with Optimum No Rinse. Paint decontamination with Iron-X and then a Nanoskin medium Speedy Prep sponge (ONR/water in a spray bottle for lube). Dried with a Guzzler towel.

Polish with Wolfgang Swirl Remover 3.0 ($6.99 sample from Autogeek!) on an orange pad with my "classic" PC 7336. This was an awesome combo for my car (daily driver, parked outside in the Michigan extremes). I had some minor RID`s, hard water spotting and a slight loss in luster. The WG cured those issues and provided a really deep gloss, amazing for such a light color. I followed-up with my second sample, WG Finish Glaze 3.0 on a green CCS pad and the paint really popped! To top it all off, I applied one coat of PB`s Liquid Natty`s Blue. I really liked this product for my wife`s car (silver and garaged) but outdoors and, yes, I admit, I run my car through an automatic wash from time to time, it`s longevity isn`t great. Topped that with Colonite 845 for some added protection.

I`d also like to add that I tried the Safe Scrub Bug and Tar Pad. Wow. We`ve got some nasty bugs here in Michigan and this thing safely removed all of the guts and carcasses. I first sprayed the front bumper and grille with some D103 and let it dwell. Then, I soaked the pad in my clean wash bucket...I figured the ONR/water would make a nice, smooth lube for the pad and flush away the bugs. Worked like a charm and it didn`t damage my plastic grille which I have coated in Plasti-Dip.

Finished the day off with a thorough vacuuming and some interior touch-up with Cockpit Premium 1Z. Also wiped down the door jambs (previously washed and coated with PB`s EX-P) with some leftover Meg`s Quick Detailer.

I`ll probably follow-up this fall with another thorough wash, paint prep and application of 845 for the winter months.

And I got to play with my new pb wheel sealant. Smells like bubble gum.

And bold n bright, which also smells great. Reminds me of sunscreen for some reason.
