Decided to start repairing one of my bikes that caught on fire. She`s been sitting outside for the last 3 years uncovered and unloved. Till now. 20 years old and not looking too bad

    Unlocked: The Chain Gun

That’s what it feels like to pick up and use a rotary polisher. You have to say “Say hello to my little friend!”

Worked on the gel coat Rv and detailed a truck. There was a lot of calcium on the truck and the rotary picked it off easy. With soft pads I saw no ghost trails but I still followed up with Rupes yellow pad and polish because I’m scared after seeing all those rotary trail pics online.

It has begun, lol. Needed to see what would work on this nice oxidized Toyota white. But first we gotta remove that bug guard to get closer.

    Oh my...

After a good washing I started pondering what I could use. Seems my 8 year old bottle of SSR1 is still good, so lets go with that!

Hard to see, but on the left had been done and the right not.

    Completed.

Wish I could get better pictures, but it is what it is. Put the bug guard on and applied a coat of EX-P

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Well, I did a full decon detail today.

Washed with Reset, Gyeon Tar remover, Iron remover (Nanolex) clayed and Nanalex SI. Car is beautiful now. Just in time for rain tomorrow. Will check that beading then.

What I did notice is how smooth the car wash after the Gyeon Tar Remover and how little iron and contaminants there were on the car - no purple color after applying the iron remover. Only got to put on one coat of the Nanalex today, but will put on a second coat later this week.
A lot of work, but kind of enjoyable.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

    Paint and wheels chem. Decon.
With a OTC wheel cleaner for 5$.

It worked OK, didn’t stink too bad. (believe it rusted my rotors)

I did follow up with one of my favorites. Which helped pull out some iron remover residue.

Then I did try 2 samples of Carx snow foam, smelled like twigs, not too bad.

I was hopeful that the Carx foam would strip my paint,
    but no.
I used it in my Trinova canon which has a brass top.
Started eating the brass and really smelling. Chucked the whole works !

I hand washed with CGs Citrus Clear,
then the Iron remover spray down,
rinsed and hand washed again, by the rinse the paint was bald. I could finally see her bad areas.

    1st try of the PF22.
Not much foam from this soap considering the name, but I was after the bit of protection until I have time to finish a mechanical decon. (next week)

I really like the way Griots Rubber prep. removes any remaining old products.

    Tires with Gyeon Tire and
wheels thoroughly decontaminated, then a good cleaning, and wiped well with Eraser .
Coated with my new coating. (will post) What did you do detailing wise today?

See the rusty rotors...?? What did you do detailing wise today?

    Foamed

    Clay mitt.
The paint was crunchy. Now she’s smooth !

    Hand washed, and foamed again

    Erasered the trim.
Love these little 12x12 540gsm edgeless towels. Fits my hand, smaller so easier for wiping close to the ground.
Fat thirsty little buggers. What did you do detailing wise today?

    Coated the trim.
I had only 1 foam finger mitt applicator, which knocked out the trim like a champ.
The grill needed something much smaller.

One more step closer to completing my coating project.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Finally got my PW repaired today. Broke down and got to the hardware store and bought the tool that needed to get it done. User error on my part and pushed the soap dispenser maybe a little to hard so it got pushed down into the PW case. Test it out tomorrow and see so I got it right LOL.

Hope this week gets some good weather to wash. Thinking about to take the Ford Focus I maintain panel by panel with compound and polish and protection done as I go. Still thinking of the Essence/Angelwax Ti-22 combo or if going only with the ti-22 sealant. When it`s done I think that I will try Angelwax Desirable Wax which is their beauty wax to top it when the whole car is done. Mine is decided to go with the Esclate Lotion and Master Sealant combo. Have been thinking on Essence on my car too but no I want to see where PA takes it to. Softer paint on my car so maybe not so aggressive combo is needed and some spot correction on some parts.

Like how Sonax Spray and Seal on the Ford Focus as a stand alone LSP. Has been able to holding up during the winter months here in Sweden. It`s very dirty but the last week heavy raining has actually cleaned it up a little. And also some beading from the nights rain looked acceptable for being this LSP only. If I do a wash tomorrow I think that I will try the Sonax Wash and Seal car soap. Have been stocking up on the Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus. But today in the autoparts store I saw it`s a new recipe on it. Hope it`s even more great than before
