Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I did what I call a quick wash and it still took me an hour from the time I walked outside to when I finished up. It did spend 5 minutes removing some water marks.

I used Auto Finesse Lather (about 3/4 oz in 3 gallons) and cleaned up the jambs with Mothers Showtime (the cinnamon scent has a kick). I did not redress tires (Wolfgang looked great).

Well Since I had some time I went ahead and tried out some of my PolishAngel products and applied the Viking Shield. My car was pretty clean so I just pulled out the foam gun and gave it a good lathering. Before I did that I tried some PolishAngel ULTRARED. Seemed to work pretty good on the nasty stuff stuck on the paint

After cleaning and drying the car I used Polish Angel`s Escalate Lotion. Man this stuff was amazing. A little went a long way and it left the paint nice and smooth. Here`s a shot after I was done using it.

Made sure the paint was clean and then applied some Viking Shield. Oh boy does this stuff make the paint pop. Here are some shots after I was done. Too bad the sun not to stay up for me.

Now I cant wait to try Flake and Aqua on my upcoming regular washes. Good stuff for sure.

Washed the wife`s car in prep for finishing it up tomorrow...

    Products used

    • Cleaned trim with Mothers Trim Cleaner - judge tomorrow on ability
    • Cleaned wheel wells with Poorboy`s All Purpose Cleaner 1:7.5 - did a good job
    • Washed with Meg`s Hyper Wash and Autogeek Chenille Wash Mitt - a good all around soap and mitt, I think the Chenille style mitt is a good balance of cost, ease of rinsing in rinse bucket cleaning performance, low drag, general maintenance, and durability
    • Cleaned jambs with Mothers Showtime - love that cinnamon scent
    • PakShak microfiber to dry

Tomorrow`s agenda: clean more trim, Poorboy`s Polish with sealant, a carnuaba (likely Blackfire Midnight Sun), and more.

Cleaned up the interior of my daily driver. Vacuumed it, gave the rubber and plastics a light cleaning with meguiar`s quik interior detailer and followed that up with some ultimate protectant. All leather was cleaned with meguiar`s leather & vinyl cleaner and sealed with the sealant from the leather sealer system.

This is so off topic , but it was arguing with my mom about waxing , and she told me that you don`t need to wax a brand new car ,we bought our car 3 months ago, and I said you still need to wax it , whether it`s old or new, and she said it`s all a bunch of advertising and it doesn`t work, someone help me convince her that any car needs to be waxed.
    Thanks

Not really detailing, just working on the garage and getting it ready for detailing.
