Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

    Over weekend

Had a charger booked too but it cancelled the morning of. So I ended up washing my truck which hasnt left my driveway in probably a year. Update on two holy sheet threads coming soon but I do need to post another vehicle I did a few weeks ago.

The Lexus was super swirled, no polishing but it was a spectacular metallic pearl.

I did iron removal and clay. Gyeon Prep+p808 to switch it up.

Truck got super slick n suds wash and a towel dry. I used the blackfire synthetic wax sample I recieved a while back on the roof and hood. I think it had been 6 months since I washed the truck last. Don`t hate me, truck is in need of repairs I can not afford yet.

Day 2 of my 3 day detail weekend
Getting accustomed to my new 21mms.
    Rupes Mll w/6” BP
    Boss w/5” BP

    Locked & loaded

    The set-up, cart & lights

Dirty towel stand & pad soak bucket.

    The victim

Boss MF was very nice, w/ BlackFire compound.

Rupes Med. wool will take some practice, chattering all over, must have looked like I was drunk What did you do detailing wise today?

I have a Boss 15, so this felt comfortable and familiar.
Forgot about the quick startling feature though.

I did try BlackFire polish w/ Rupes yellow pad, very nice. Will make a great backup to my S40 & Rupes white pad.
Which wanted to splatter on the 6" pads.

The coating was Dr. Beasley’s plasma, then a layer of
    Dodo Supernatural Hybrid
topped the next day w/ my favorite WA Vitreo
(used be difficult to remove, PBs 9x16 PFMs killed it )

    Thanks for lookin’

I BOSS foamed the boss`s car yesterday. Used the Surface Wash then the PolyGloss. It hasn`t been washed for 10 days or so and caught in a rainstorm 2 days ago.

It had a slight road film that came right off using the Surface Wash only. I didn`t even have to scrub the wheels.

I know it looks good when she tells me it "looks nice".

Gave my car a quick once over. Been a while. I’ve been busy and it’s been hot, so it was a bit past due for it. Scrubbed the wheels like 4 times cause they were pretty cruddy. Did a rinseless wash, wiped down with PA High Gloss. Got the tires dressed with WG black diamond. Quick wipedown inside. Good to have the Acura standing tall again!

What did you do detailing wise today?

Nice day for a wash & wax
    Coin op. Style.
    Breeze blowing through,
    early morn. peaceful.

    I use a 1 BM, w/7-8 noodle pads.
    Not the wearing kind,because
I enjoy swinging them around to reach farther.

Tires & wheels first, foamed, scrubbed.

    This grill is a pain

The hood being the only coated panel, a bead shot.

    After PFMs & a blower.
I took her to a park for some paint cleaning. Where I
wanted to find out if my Ryobi Mod. could handle
    more than wax applications.
Dodo Lime Prime cleanser w/ Quantum blue pad.
Which was a home run !

This was a mistake to spread it first. Wind dried it and had to redo, my coated hood of course What did you do detailing wise today?
Small sections moved things right along.

Too hot, moved underground to wax.
PBs liquid blue wax w/ hydro red.
1-1/2 batteries only, to do both cleaning & waxing. What did you do detailing wise today?

    Finally, windows
    Pinnacle w/ rain repellent

She ain’t perfect by no means, but
    She Purrdy !!

    Nope, It`s WaxAddict`s Vitreo. I prefer the `Nuba`s
Heard only good about Quartz though.
Be waiting for your post patiently

Mary, you’re awesome. I thought I was the only one that toted all the necessaries down to the car wash. I don’t do it very often and mostly on a warmer winter day (30 - 40 degrees) when there’s snow still on the ground and the vehicle is well beyond a waterless or rinseless wash. I don’t like icing my driveway up and leaving all the salt on the concrete, it just doesn’t drain well when there’s snow on both sided of the driveway. I certainly can’t stand to have all the road salt tucked away in all the nooks and crannies, fenderwells etc., so I do it. Then I usually bring it home in a warm garage do a rinseless and put a topper on it. This all said, I don’t have as nice of a setup for the coin-ops as you do. You’re certainly inspirational, I think it’s great.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Well.. I’ve been upgrading my chem. station.
I was using water jugs for my chem. solutions

After over a year, one finally burst at the seam when I was filling it with PBs Bugsquash.

    So USP to the rescue.
Found some the shape and size of what I have set-up. The main thing is they are chem. resistant.

The spigot that came with the jug (blue)was not heavy duty, and leaked. Made me consider keeping the water
jug’s spigot. That one has a collar, a shoulder w/gasket.
But sucky lever would pour out chem. too easily.

USP did have an option. Collar, shoulder w/ gasket.

Next thing was the new jug had no air vent, and filled by removing the spigot.
It will be thread taped and not removed.

    Sooo....

    A 1/2” drill bit

    I can fill it now

    A 1/2” Snap plug

    Fixed.
    Professional chemical resistant jugs w/spigots.

    Thanks for watching me play
