Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Not happy with the foam thickness of my foam Cannon, so swapped out the
brass 1.2 Orifice for a SS 1.1 Orifice and an upgraded male end QC piece.

4:00 am couldn`t sleep , so wiped down my car and finally got the nerve to apply PBs Black Natty`s, on pass. side.
Then for comparison, DoDo Black Widow on Driver`s. (let the darkening begin)
PBs was a dream, pure enjoyment, easy on easy off.
DDs tougher to off and on. Some DoDo has been hit and miss with me.
Love these GGs PFM detail towels for wipe off. The 16x9 green ones.

Said it before Mary, you truly amaze me. You are always trying something new. You get your hands dirty and you figure out what works. When it comes to testing products, you are one of those special detailers whose reviews I wait for and very much enjoy.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I got bored and decided to clean the engine and engine bay on the beater. Yea I don`t know what possessed me to do it, only two beers in today so I was still in my right state of mind, lol.

    Before:

    After:

Zep Purple Degreaser 1:1, couple detailing brushes, and a dark colored microfiber. Rinsed with the pressure washer turned off, so it was low pressure and volume. Ran engine to temp to burn off the water. The black hood pad was not touched because it is starting to deteriorate. Will replace eventually.

Two bucket wash on the WRX this evening using Gyeon bathe. But the real story is Polish Angel gold zirkon. First time using it and man does it look amazing. This is my second PA product (high gloss) and it`s a whole different level. Only a few quick pics because they do no justice. Although, I was surprised that you can actually see the gold flakes in it!

I had my first experience with a foam cannon. Was so fun. Spraying a thick layer of foam on both vehicles. Did not have to touch either one. Only the wheels needed touching.

foam cannons are fun to use. i go through a lot more soap, but i love that thick foam blanket it lays down. passerbys often stop and ask what it is.

Yah, I probably used 8 ounces of Griots pink or red soap. Just an electric pressure washer, 1500 psi. Wool mitt on the wheels with Megs ultimate wheel cleaner. So funWhat did you do detailing wise today?

Lived the suburban dad routine this weekend.

Friday after work I cleaned up my car and went to dinner and movie with the family. Saturday I mowed the yard and fired up the grill and enjoyed a day and evening on the patio with neighbors and the family. Today, I did a little more yard work and then washed my wife`s vehicle and topped off the evening with a nice home cooked dinner thanks to my wife and I rolled us out in her car to get ice cream.

Doesn`t get much better than this weekend if you ask me.

Washed, repolished(due to clients grandkids touching dusty, dusty car) and applies crystal seal to paint, McKee’s trim detailer to engine bay, pbw wheel sealant and McKee’s tire coating to the rims and tires. Enjoy the few pics
And yes there was also some hate marks from a scratch-o-magic car wash All micro scratches were remover with blackfire src polish, lc orange lo-pro pads and griots 6” with 5” bp.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Getting an idea of what it will take to get my Red Nissan back to an acceptable state for me. After a long hard winter.
Worked on the hood, with S20 .
Starting w/ CGs green pad : Too light.
Scholl`s purple spider : Felt good, still too light.
GGs MF pad : Much better, could feel & hear
the difference in aggressiveness. Rough then
turning smooth. Still not getting what I wanted.

I learned that S20 was too light, will need to compound w/ MF or maybe foamed wool.

Want to find something comparable to S40 .
    Tried
Jescar Micro Finishing : Reminded me of
Rupes white , not as difficult to wipe off but dang close.
JLG Finishing polish: I liked it . Long work time, easy wipe off, just dusty.

Was using TRC 365 Edgeless removal towels:
Worked great, w/ no added marring or lint. Nice to have a ready stack at a good price .

Fancy tape job...a work in progress

I sealed her up w/ DBs PlasmaCoat : Sweeet ! You are greeted by a scent of mint, and an easy app & removal.
GGs little white removal towels were perfect for the WOWO. They are thin so you can feel when it`s all been removed.
IMO this is more a sealant than a coating, which is perfect for me, so I can play with my waxes all I want.
