Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

After doing my truck Saturday, the wife left her car in the driveway Sunday and wondered when her car would get done. Same treatment as mine, rinse with PW, spray down with FerreX, then wash with Snow Foam. Paint and wheels treated with Wetcoat, the tires got HD Dress.
I may have got my first paid job. The neighbor came down and asked if I could do her daughter`s car before the lease turn in. Hopefully the weather holds put for Saturday

I`ve been replacing my plastic shelving in my Detail supply/office room, with metal wire shelving and two are heavy duty with wheels. Added more drawers. New matching lights, as well as 2 of my corded 1000 lumen detail lights .
    Plus a Computer/ Tablets/ Camera/ Bluetooth speaker station.
Much better flow and I have room to grow !
(Don`t even think of getting plastic shelves, a waste of money)

Did 2010 Jeep Wrangler with 49k miles this past weekend, never detailed, lots of swirl o`matic car washes they said, it showed few bumps an scratches, bad orange peel. Just wanted 1 step to clean it up and for sale if he gets what he wants. Wash, clay, Carpro essence on hdo orange pad, topped with ceramic wax, raggtopp cleaner an conditioner on top, WG exterior trim sealant, hyper dressing on tires. Basic interior detail.

detailed a neighbor`s 2016 gmc canyon. unfortunately, it sits outside 24/7, is not driven much, and was heavily contaminated. a wash, clay, and one step with hd speed brought it back. i was impressed with hd speed, very easy to use and leaves a nice finish.

Washed my frontier. Cant drive it much (needs a new timing chain and some other things) but I got tired of looking at it all water spotted from the rain a week ago.

Poorboys sss and did a panel wipe on the hood and added essence + via hand. I had it out for some work today on my SRT so I figured why not give it a go as stand alone lsp for my trucks hood.

Didnt bother with dressing the trim. The polish angel black bond and carpro dlux are already wearing off but still a little bit there on the plastics.

Ouch. Isn`t it a `06 or `07? 05-08 was the worst years, fact I traded off my `07 because it needed chains and guides.

    Yep.. 06 134k miles

timing chain is quite angry in startup and angrier once engine warms up. Probably has a blown gasket too as the oil pressure drops to 3psi with no throttle input once engine warms up.

Luckily I found a mechanic that is going to trade labor (timing chain, oil and water pump) for a detail. I am saving up for the parts.

It was fix my truck or go to DF this year. I chose a much needed vacation instead.

Luckily I work from home and have another old black car to drive.

I did a rinse-less wash with WG Uber. A partial wax with Megs Ultimate wax- liquid. It`s starting to get nice here after a cold spring.

And this is why I`m officially done with Nissan. How does a piston ring fail at 130k on an 05 Pathfinder thats well maintained? Its an end of an era for me.

fly07sti - very classy and subtle upgrades. Both make a big difference.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

after a few hours here and a few hours there over last few weeks finally finished the compound step on my Camaro. Lot bigger pain then I thought, had turkey scratches all over it from last year and also had over spray from work on it and kept plugging up my pads after each section.
