Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

12 hours of polishing spread out over two days due to a bum back. Still have finishing step left but I’ve had it for today. Getting it ready for 22PLE HPC.

It’s beeeuuutiiifuuul! Love that blue. I also get the back thing. I spent 4.5 hours thatching my grass and fertilizing on Saturday. I didn’t even get through the back yard let alone the yard I take care of next door. Backs are bad news.

Showed a buddy how to use my cordless Griots buffer to apply his Best of Show wax on his 5 year old Caddy. He waxes his Vette constantly but never worried about his daily driver getting waxed. Maybe that will change...... he loved the cordless buffer so I might have him hooked.

Hopefully it was Version 2 of BoS, otherwise, when it comes to removal time, you`ve lost a friend.

He had the old version bottle purchased from O`Rielys recently. I had read about the removal issue but his came off nicely (Hot day in AZ). I see version II has new bottle art work mentioning a new formula.

Thanks Dan! I appreciate your comments. I am just a weekend warrior so it is far from perfect. Orange peel is a known issue with these things so with my limited skills there is only so much I can, and am willing, to do. Plus, I daily drive it so it has the usual scars from that up close. With my limited skill and experience, I am only willing to go so far. Good enough though for me and most folks with an untrained eye!

I sure do like that blue. I think you`ll enjoy 22ple; it`s the easiest and most entertaining coating I`ve used. Their applicator is kinda lame but aside from that, it`s just plain fun to use `cuz it`s so forgiving. The molten glass type of gloss is stunning, durable and very good at staying clean. Looking forward to end result!

Have 50ml so planing on three coats. Madness trying to figure out if it is 12 or 24 hrs in between each. Everything I find from them says 12. Have VS1 to apply 2 hours after last coat, but considering getting some Fintura instead.

Yeah, the wait time between coats is a little ambiguous based upon Digital Image description. When I contacted 22ple, they recommend 24hrs due to high solids content. Kinda tough to get a hold of them (22ple) although I usually get a response quickly if I message them thru their Facebook page between 4am and 5am EST.

As they once told me regarding wait time between coats: "minimum of 12 hours (24 hours is highly recommended)"

I have Finitura and have used it, not sure what to make of it yet. Was really hard to get a completely clean wipe of residue, took many towels and a very light touch but did leave a nice, shiny slick surface. Kinda hard to apply lightly given the squeeze top on the bottle so I generally take the spray top from VS1 Final Coat, clean it out, put on Finitura bottle and then spray on short nap towel and apply in that fashion...seems easier.

When I asked "Finitura or VS1?" the below is the response I got:

    My Question:
Curious as to the use of VS1 on vehicle I`ll be using HPC + Finitura on? Worthwhile for VS1 as final after HPC/Finitura application?
    Their answer:
Yes...some prefers to use most. Me I prefer to use Finitura then alternate between VS1 and Finitura when I maintain the vehicle
Make of that what you will.

Kinda a quirky, enigmatic company (don`t even have a website) but their stuff sure is good.
