Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Did a waterless wash on my mother in-laws RX350 with N-914 at 1:32 dilution. I went with that dilution figuring I am going to add a LSP after I am done anyways and the car was a mess tons of bug guts on the front and grease and other black marks on the sides that were real stubborn to get off, N-914 at that dilution did a great job cleaning and still left the surface clean and streak free. LSP was Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish I put it on the same way is read someone here doing it in there review by spraying it on a microfiber applicator and applying it the the car then whipping down excess after with a nice microfiber.

Nice. The white suede`s are new. They stopped sending them with the orange ones. One reason was for the interior leather coating. The orange ones would stain light colored leather. The white ones are not supposed to do that anymore.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Was foaming my GFs and I`s cars today and a neighbor waved me down and asked if I could do theirs afterward. Said yes of course as I really enjoy doing it and I think neighbors are supposed to be neighborly. Not thinking much of it as I don`t notice cars unless they`re modified, she opens the garage and BAM. 2000 Chevy S U B U R B A N. That dark navy blue that has seen much better days. Welp, no turning back now.

My buddy shows up around this time because we were going to buff his headlights so he gives me a hand. I foam it with Dodo Juice Apple iFoam, 2 applications of Natural Look on the super faded plastics, PBW Glass cleaner inside and out, Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller iron remover and Supernatural wheel cleaner on the wheels. Bold N Bright on the tires. Wheels were no doubt untouched since it was at the dealership. I think I need a new wheel woolie already.

It looks as good as it`ll get without a buff, truly. The paint actually kinda shines now. Smells better too. Neighbors daughter comes running over and asks "How much?" I give her the "Don`t worry about it, I just like doing it!" So she runs back in her house and her mom comes out, looks over the SUV, smiles and says "Thanks." I asked her if she liked it and she has a weird tone and says "It looks okay for free..."

Not going to lie it bummed me for a bit. I wouldn`t have accepted a tip, but I guess the notion would of been nice. My buddy and I decided that she had seen us three stepping my car, and she thought we were going to do the same to her suburban in an hour free of charge. *jordan shrug*

Ended the night on a better note with some green onions and steaks on the grill! Everything`s better now! Ha!

Kinda sad that more appreciation wasn`t shown.

That was a very neighborly thing to do, even if more appreciation wasn`t shown. Don`t let her bring you down! She got a free car wash at 10x the quality of the swirl-o-matic. Kudos to you!

It`s possible I just took it the wrong way. I think it was one of those instances that Professionals deal with where some people understand the time and money it takes to make paint GLEAM, and then there`s those people that think no detail job should ever cost more that $50 under any circumstance. No where to go from here but up! lol

Spent about 3 hours cleaning interior of my mother in-law`s RX350 this afternoon. Vacuum, 1Z deep plastic cleaner on all the really bad spots, Meg`s quick interior detailer every where, Wolfgang Cockpit Sealant on all the interior leather and plastics (i freaking love this stuff). Windows with D120 and a few waffle weave microfibers.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

hose rinse was probably even overkill
then spray and wipe as drying aid
decided to just add more liquid Souveran spray wax, it`s one of my favorite spray waxes for intensifying the flake reflection on my paint

white diamond + souveran spray applied under there last weekend

Just booked this 12` Challenger Yellow Jacket for Gtechniq C1 and EXOv3 combo.

Got my Highline meter in and found my Honda Fit to be all over the place between 75-110 microns. Door jambs were 45-50 microns.
