Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

A customer of mine just purchased this truck used and it was heavily contaminated in some places. Front doors required some tar remover, 2 rounds of iron fallout remover and a ton of time claying. Oh and I forgot to mention that the previous owner loved their silicone based tire dressings and loved to top that dressing with more dressing! Bleche wite, OPC and tire brush not only did just about nothing removing the old dressing but completely destroyed my tire brush. I tried to cleane it a couple times with the pressure washer but it was useless. I ordered a couple new ones today and I really should order more to have plenty of backups. I ended up using plastic razor blades to scrape the majority of the caked on dressing and then scrubbed the tire walls with my other tire brush that I used to use for carpet. LSP was McKee`s Hydro Blue.

below is how much I scraped off of about 1/2 of one tire

I will make sure to put that on my next order. I wanted to order some yesterday but the other place I ordered from did not have the concentrate. I`ve heard nothing but great things.

I generally use it diluted 1:1 with distilled water but have a small bottle for just that reason. I also use this tuff shine cleaner at 1:1 for cleaning other rubber on the car pre final wash like the window seals

Just noticed I didn`t even share my progress on the truck.

Optimum poli seal for most, then 105/205 where needed. Rupes 21 and mini
