Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Over the winter I picked a second hand set of 20inch WK Jeep SRT8 wheels (with OEM tires), powder coated black. They are in near perfect condition aside from needing some minor paint correction (no chips or curb rash).

When I get home today (from work) I`m going to decontaminate, wash, compound, and polish out these wheels and use some kind of ceramic coating or FK1000p (still haven`t made up my mind, really depends on environmental factors).

I`ll use this as an opportunity to do my first write up of the year!

Quick wash in the hot sun. Used Adam`s Car Shampoo because it is perfectly safe to let dry on the paint. Then rinsed and sprayed down with Adam`s Detail Spray and dried. Auto Finesse Satin on the tires.

I just put fk1000 on my Scat Pack wheels Sunday. They look great, should make clean up easier, specially the barrels

Anyone know about these paint meters. I need to get one soon. I just booked two coating jobs and one of them has been painted about 6 months ago.

I started using the over and under method to coil extension cords and it does work. I found that cords that have been twisted they seem to fight the new coiling (heavier AWG or thicker jackets) but they uncoil without getting twisted up. You can just throw the cord and it will unfurl.

I was looking at the HighLine one Autopia sells but never has in stock. Hmm.

I eventually need an affordable one as well

Whats the over and under method, Al? I like how this sounds.

Chuggin` along removing last year`s coating and prepping for this year`s choice. Wow, M205...where ya been all my life? Great with Flex and white Force pad.

Shame about the Subaru orange peel...

My friends red 98 Dodge had some oxidation on single stage paint. Used M205, 7in orange pad and rotary. Then a layer of Meguiars Fast Finish was applied.
