Lol. At least you were able to return instead of being stuck with them

Yea. I`m glad that worked out. Hopefully I`ll hear about the refund this week. They should`ve gotten them back today.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I did something incredibly silly, detailing wise today. On Wednesday, I received a 2016 Coolster CG-210 70cc dirt bike for my daughter and a Tao Tao Lancer 150 for my wife and I to share.

So I got them all put together, and my daughter got about an hour of seat time in the yard and got it all muddy. On Thursday snow was on the way (Grrrr) so I moved them into the basement.

This morning, my daughter and I changed out the shipping oil out of both of them, and then we gave them both a good wash with McGee`s 914. Then, just for kicks and giggles, I coated both of them with PBL v2. So, yeah, I used a $200 coating system (though not all of it) on a $350 dirt bike and a $650 scooter. No pictures since the lighting in the basement sucks, but it did seem to make the paint pop a bit more then I`ve seen on a China bike! It should make them easier to clean after riding.

    I got too much stuff!

My personal favorite go-to machine is Rupes MKI with the KB washer mod and a 5" backing plate. That would work fine with your existing pads.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

My personal go-to favorite is the MKI with the 21mm throw with a 5" backing plate.
    I prefer a 5" backing plate on a DA & the 21. I feel I obtain better results with a 21.
I have a lot of miles on my MKI 21 w/5" BP & it has served me well over the years.

I have a MKII 15mm. I have used the MK15 with and without the KB washer mod. I still prefer the MKI 21 w/5" BP.
I don`t have a MKII with a 21mm throw. My guess is the MKII 21 with the KB washer mod would be a good choice.

Also you will find a huge assortment of pads from Rupes, Lake Country, Meguiar`s etc. including microfiber & foam.
I like using different microfiber pads for correction and super soft foam pads for finishing (jeweling) but that`s me.
I has been a long time since I have used CCS pads. I like the LC 5.5" flat pads, Megs and Carpro mf and gloss pads.
Remember: When using a long throw it is better to use a pad that has a hole in the center to allow for compression.
Nonetheless, your 5.5" CCS pads will do a good job. I`m sayin`...there is a whole new world of pads worth trying.

    What compounds/polishes do you use?

    What compounds/polishes do you use?

I know there is a whole new world out there, but I am still in school and spending more money (than I have been) isn`t so much of an option until summer, especially since I am saving up for my next polisher (and misc related items). I am currently trying to avoid micro`s because I would have to buy an air compressor to clean them, I do see their value, but I really only maintain two vehicles, no financial justification to spend a boat load on pads when I have 22- 5.5" pads and 20- 3" pads, and the vehicles only get a polish once or twice a year, in between they get glazed and sealed.

    My polishes/compounds:
    *PB Pro Polish
    *WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer
    *Megs: UP, UC, 101, 205, #3, #9
    *Carpro Essence

    My CCS Pads (5.5"):
    *Orange x 4
    *White x 4
    *Green x 5
    *Black x 4
    *Blue x 5
