I took Trashman`s lead, picked up this cord reel, wound up a 50ft 12/2 cord, and hung it by hooks on my fast track system:

Perfect! Thanks for the idea, Trashman!!

Got warm enough to get a wash in. Finished with TW wax as you dry.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Much busier day than I expected. I had a pretty bad Saturday, took the Dakota I detailed last week in for inspection and both rear shackles have rusted through, so nothing is holding the rear of the leafs to the frame. Rear shocks are blown and driver side upper and lower ball joints are bad.

So I needed a relaxing detail day. I told my sister in law that I`d detail her Subaru, inside and out with PBL coating for $160. So today I did the interior and did a 50/50 on the hood to Work out my process on the polishing and coating.

This car is used to haul two of her kids and two of mine to Pittsburgh or Latrobe 4-5 days a week for various home schooling and enrichment activities. So needless to say the car was a bit gross on the inside.

    Before:

(Side note, she didn`t know she had heated seats, probably because the switches were so gummed up with crud they didn`t move)

After, not 100% but she`s very happy with it.

My little helper, who scrubbed the carpets and earned $20 for it.

    And the 50/50:

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Finished up another fleet vehicle, used Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light + C2V3 for the first time; at 55-58 degrees what a joy it was to work with, easy on, easy off. Took about 30ml outta the 50ml bottle, used Gyeon applicator block/suedes, little goes a long way. Sure am looking forward to doing cars when weather breaks but until then this is all I have to play with:
Ranger on right was Gyeon Mohs, E250 Van on lefts is the CSL

Unfortunately this vehicle is a rolling billboard for orange peel. Eh, whatcha gonna do?

Really liked working with the CSL. Gonna try The Gloss Shop Ceramic Coating on the next one, then Gyeon Prime on one and then maybe Carpro Gloss Coat just `cuz. By then, hopefully the weather will be nice enough to start mucking about with actual cars.

Did find during prepping this one that the LHR15 Mk 2 + Kamikaze Beast plate + Megs Microfiber cutting disc + Megs D300 is a buttery smooth, fast acting defect killer.

you mean, "new to you", right? Nice Chevy. Their styling has come a long way the past 5 years or so.

After 3 months of sitting in the shop being neglected I was able to pull my srt8 out and give it some attention, 2bm wash and fresh coat of high gloss

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

So I gotta write up different quotes for a `94/95 jaguar sedan in white for a full interior, exterior, engine, and potentially a wheels off and the different prices between a coating ( which I`m debating between high gloss or polish angle) and a sealant. This is pretty much a gq that has marring on paint for pot, poor wash jobs client is second owner of this Wisconsin car that has never seen salt or snow. And the second quote is for a `07 BMW 328( I believe) in black that friend is getting today that is from original owner who claims it was detailed every month since bought new. I`m kind Leary of how it looks, I should see it on Saturday

Used the Rupes UHS system on my gf`s car yesterday. Quickly brings back gloss but didn`t level all the swirling. I don`t like how the pads feel- very dense.

i squeeze them a little before putting on the bp
you can use rupes blue pad with uhs for more cut

or rupes blue polish with uhs pad for more cut

Did you follow Todd Helme`s method when using the UHS stuff. The pads typically soften up while they are used.
