Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

My Wheels & tires need help

    With the help of

The wheels came clean pronto, tires needed more, so tried
    a Youtube suggestion

Scrubbed it in with a soft scrub spounge, wiped it off, didn`t
have to scrub my tires forever to get them black.

I used the BF t&w cleaner to neutralize the cleaners. Thinking
    PH balanced.

For the tires, I wanted deep dark, not too glossy. Plus a gel
    not a watery fluid.

    Wheels also got special treatment

This process worked great, and I can`t say enough about
    the phenomenal products.

    64 in Chicago today.

Was happy to get to clean the car this afternoon.

Coin op t blast away the thick grime and debris.

    WGURW presoak and RW
    Tires dressed with Hyperdressing
    Paint topped with ECH2O/Cure.

    But, then I noticed this:

And then this (above the reflection of the phone):

And numerous swirls around the pillars. It wasn`t until then that I had recalled I dropped my car off at the Tesla service center last week. I strictly said no detailing (and they didn`t), but I guess I forgot to tell them not to swirl up the car!

    Pissed.

But, I grabbed some CarPro Essence Plus and used it for the first time with my Rupes mini.

    Before:

    After:

    Before:

    After:

Essence Plus wasn`t a miracle worker, but I was impressed. A lot of small but noticeable swirls were addressed by EP. It`s made me a believer and I will definitely be reaching for this again of I see the need. Trying to stretch Gyeon Mohs 2 years, and seeing these swirls was a bummer. But, maybe I can go through the year without having to correct the car and recoat - as long as I don`t have to take the car back to Tesla!

    nice!
let us know if you see any significant water behavior change relative to the Mohs... I`m reckoning the contact angle of EP is probably in the lower 100s at best but never actually used any of the bottle I have

Gave my Tundra a good rinse at work with the power washer right before heading home. Got home warmed up the garage a bit and did a rinseless wash with (now kinda old school) ONR. I had Creed playing on the tv in the background what a great movie that was, probably tied for my second favorite in the Rocky series.

I`m definitely interested in this myself, although I`m not sure I`d be able to tell since the areas were edges with more vertical components than horizontal components. Tomorrow I`ll go out an mist up the area and see if I can tell any difference. I was planning on putting down a layer of high gloss tomorrow anyway.
