Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Spent some time continuing my detail spray comparison testing.

My truck has so many products on it now on various panels and in various layers I`m surprised it doesn`t glow in the dark.

It sure does look deep and wet for silver though.

    Just a quick iphone shot...

My Golf R was jealous on the other side of the garage and had to sneak into the shot via reflection.

It`s just two towels tossed on top of each other, a black with red silk edge clean & buff on bottom (which I usually use for polish removal) and a CG Sasquatch on top of it. Out of frame are 3 or 4 other towels I was using as I kept testing different detail sprays and towels. Yup, had nothing better today today than nit pick towel and detail spray combos on a truck that doesn`t actually need to be cleaned since it can`t get any cleaner.

Well, you could sit there and wait for some dust to fall on it

Now that you said it, I can see it`s a towel. Wasn`t sure what it was before. Almost looked like a tool or something. (guess I should wear my glasses more)

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Dust will be there by tomorrow thanks to my concrete floor . That`s why I`m a detail spray addict, I use it like crazy. Just blew out the garage the other day so that should help for a short while. I really need to wash it one of these days since that helps it be dust free a bit longer. I plan on doing some race deck in the near future when I can swing the cost.

Speaking of dust, my dang 2013 is covered in pollen after a day at the office. Even a 70 mph freeway trip home couldn`t blow it off. Oh well, it`ll get rinsed off tomorrow after some rain. BFMS coming on Thursday, so I`ll probably do a BFRW and throw some of that on there. Have to see if the pollen sticks to that?

Try a coat of inexpensive acrylic coating until you can install race deck. I cleaned my garage yesterday and will apply the coating today. It won`t last a season, because tires and foot traffic abrade it, but it`s better than the constant surface dust. I use SealBest.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Thanks for the tip. Will that stuff peel up and flake or just sort of rub away and vanish? I`d love a quick tide me over temporary finish for it to reduce dust but always worried about flaking and peeling with painted on coatings since it`s an old never been finished slab with loads of oil and other stuff in it.

Tried out some glaze on my wheels which have already been sealed with Adam`s quick sealant.

Thankfully she`s a garage queen and now has Carbotech ceramic pads so it should last long enough to be worth the effort.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I organized the detailing stuff in the garage. I mixed up some Meg`s Glass Cleaner and Ultima Waterless Wash.

I found a mostly full bottle of Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray that I forgot I had so I wonder if it is still good.

I need to decide what to apply to Blackfire Black Ice next weekend.

I looked at pictures of my son doing his car.

    Does that count?
