Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I know there`s a chance for rain over here still but i couldn`t stand seeing the dirt accumulating on my lady`s car so i gave it a 2BM wash this morning, air dried the majority of water with my sidekick then finished out using a plush MF Drying towel with D156 as drying aid/booster .

Wheels and tires cleaned up right away with just a soapy water solution thanks to the FK1kP still hanging on the wheels and the tire dressing still doing its job at repelling even though the shine was gone. Air dried tires thoroughly and topped them with PBs Bold N Bright Liquid . Fenderwells only needed a light wipe with soapy water as well and that`s it, no dressing needed this time since they still have a nice clean flat black look to them from all the previous dressing layers.

    Nice Migue.
    Just tried
The BF rinseless in a Detailer ratio 3oz-32oz
    on pass. Side
    Against Sonax BSD, on drivers.
They acted so similar, cleaning ability, slickness, shine.
I will see how they behave tonight, I m taking her to
    Work and bugs galore.
    Here are some bad pics

    Drivers

    Pass.

BSD may have an edge with slickness & good scent.
But, my truck grill was full of bugs, soaked down with BF let dwell and wiped all off.
Want to repurchase 1 not both

Update : Washed the car and went to work, where she got rained on

    BSD side

    BF side

    And trunk

BSD had tight beading, BF had all sizes
    Sonax it is

Brandt- just keep repeating "they`re not paying flawless" and it gets easier.

Mary- thank you, I have a bottle of that Sonax BSD coming in this week and I`m very excited to try it out. I`m going to test it on my car`s old hood I removed to replace , I knew it would come in handy one day and this is it, gonna use it to test some of these "quick" spray waxes/selants for average durability.

Brandt I`m in the same shoes I want to do flawless but they`re not willing to pay and I have to come up with something that`ll make them and me happy in their price range

But she gave me another pumpkin pie, lol

I`m still working on drawing the line. I might be doing some future R&D for Jazz blue as it`s just about the only color I`d take other than metallic black in these Mopars.

So I guess this breaks the rules too?

    Lol. O well

Yeah I`m like that too. "you want the car waxed or clayed, compounded and waxed?" they pay for just a wax and I end up either doing compound or claying anyway... I want to see em as good as they get but the customer wants a cheaper job!

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Well, frankly I feel I have the right to do what I wish to each and every car. I always give them a few options even after dropped off.

Yes, I shouldn`t be doing it but it happens.

I only am 2 stepping everything above the crease on the challengers...thats where most of the light hits anyways and this specific car has dual stripes down middle of entire car so its less to cover.

Now what I am going to start doing soon is charging more for intricate vinyl...an hourly rate..this took 37 mins from start to wipe off/removal..and i could have done a much better taping job, i know

I was not impressed with it. Seems gimicky like most strip washes. I have another test that I will be doing now that I polished off the hood and used all Adams protection products on the hood.
