Bathed my car.

Before the wash: SON1C Waxamole.

Washed with Gyeon Bathe+. Put a second coat of Gyeon Wet Coat on the wheels and calipers.





After the drive, wiped down with Kenotek and some Eagle Edgeless towels.

Finished waxing the boat and then took it out for a long ride. We`re done with the restoration till cooler weather hits.

How to wetsand and polish a scratch out?






I found a scratch on my quarter panel that was a couple inches wide while I was polishing. Before we start to try and remove the scratch, we have to determine if the scratch can be safely removed. The technique I trust and use often is with my finger nail. If your nail catches the scratch then high chance the scratch can`t be removed completely in a safe manner. Another technique is to use your eyes and visually inspect it. If you can see primer, metal, plastic, paint missing, then safe to say it`s too deep to correct. Also, I would highly recommend using a paint thickness gauge to be on the safe side, unless you are the original owner of the car and know the paint`s history.

Rinse then uber rw in the garage since it was a nice dry 79 degrees in there.
hydro foam + nattys white applied about 2 months ago or so. I`d have to find the thread. Could have been 1 month for all i know.

Still doing good aftervthe rinse only (hasn`t been washed in at least 3 weeks)

Used my blaster to dry for the heck of it and QD+ wipedown for the remaining water drops.

Bold n bright on tires/running boards
Pb glass + ww glass towel

Didn`t break a sweat until i pulled the truck out of the garage and did final inspection in the sunlight.

Washed the Highlander with Rupes m101. Dried with the Master Blaster.

Did a quick polish of the hood with CarPro Essence. Topped it with SON1C Waxamole. Didn`t need to polish other parts, but put a fine layer of Waxamole on the rest of the car.

So, in my process of somewhat restoring (detailing wise) my new-ish to me Lexus, I began, today, thinking about how I would bring the front grills shine back, 144K as a DD takes a toll. Emma`s grill is in need of reconditioning, as it is painted and chrome plated plastic. I went outside to see what I could do and use, besides the old finger in a Microfiber trick.

My solution:



It`s almost perfect. Sliding the Wheel Woolie through a close ended wrench will keep it from wiggling around under pressure. It will work pretty well, I`m sorry I don`t have any more photos as it was starting to rain. More good news is that PB Professional Polish will do the trick, so too will smaller pipe cleaners.




Update** PB`s World Pro Polish; it`s my new best friend for trim restoration: every type.
