Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

So yesterday I came home and noticed how nice the coating was beading as I walked around I noticed I had driven trough some concrete slurry from road works/construction site (only two seasons in Montreal Winter and Construction). I posted it up on facebook detailing group to see if it could wait another day until the rain lets up (there was a serious thunderstorm going out outside). I got a basically unanimous response to clean it ASAP.

It was already starting to harden (like dry clay on my paint) when I got to it. I broke out my two buckets, a wash mitt, a wheel Woolie, APC, Degrease, UWW+, D114, Hyper-Wash. I ended up pre-treating the area`s (basically from the windows down all the way around) with D144 and very gently went over it with my hyper wash soaked wash mitt until it was all gone from the paint. Then I did my wheel wells with the Woolie. I didn`t use the APC, Degreaser, or UWW+ to get it clean (the coating made it easy).

My neighbors across the street had a good laugh watching me wash my car in a lightning storm amidst a downpour. I was soaked by the time I finished.

P.S. sorry about the pictures, I was trying to avoid getting my phone wet and then it died just as I took my first finished shot (you can see a gray bar on the left as the phone shut down as it was saving the photo).

I wonder if a keychain tracker would be small enough? Like this one?

    https://www.amazon.com/Tile-TLE-0200.../dp/B011HT9AL2

For $24 it may not be a bad way to keep track of a small $$$ item like a PTG. You could attach it with some double sided tape or velcro.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

I opened the garage door, looked at my filthy car (the mom has the garage full) due to my neighboor getting a new roof (he is also getting the eve of his garage extended for covered parking (I`m jealous)), and wanted to clean my car very badly. However his work will be completed in the next week and a half, I`m not going to compete with construction fallout whilst trying to keep a DD clean. Detail-wise, I did compound my windshield (GG 6" DA, GG 6.25" Glass Polishing Pad, GG Glass Polish-heavy), it will need to be hit a few more times, but there is only so much I can do to a 145K mile windshield with a non-forced rotation DA. I then topped it with Rain-x because I know that I`ll be cutting it again, soonish. I then tracked my recent orders, AG will be three days late due to the CarPro Decon Kit being on back order, so much for pre-4th delivery. Poorboy`s and ACC is supposed to be here tomorrow, we`ll see.

I then had a thought, why doesn`t ACC offer a limited edition license plate frame for all of their forum members? I`d totally rock one, even though the rest of you `club members` are vastly dispersed; the thought of possibly seeing another one would make driving much more interesting.

I had hydro2 on em. This is almost a gold like (in color) brake dust. Either the hydro aint up to the task or 2500 miles was too much. But I know hydro2 doesn`t work well on my son`s Challenger.
