Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Did my final wash up here, then proceeded to pack up all my detail supplies.

I will say, the properties of a coating when washing are a lot different than the sealants I am used to. The car blew off fairly easily and after almost a month of not being able to wash it, there wasn`t a lot of dirt on the paint.

    Brandt,

How is that window cleaning tool? Worth it? I don`t enjoy doing glass that much so I wonder if that`ll make my life easier.

I bought it many years ago. Definitely a good tool to have for corners and spreading the glass cleaner, then i final wipe with cobra ww glass towel (THE best glass towel I`ve ever tried)..that and poorboys glass = glass so clear you forget its there..and ZERO streaks in 100+ degree tx sun)

What did you do detailing wise today?

First, went to my friends house and scored some free detailing stuff. Was getting ready to shoot some goons:

When he asked me if it wanted "this stuff", because he was going to toss it (no longer has a vert):

So, I took it - even though I`m not a Ragg Topp fan.

Coincidently, I was going to treat my deck umbrella with 303 FG...

So, I did do that. After the 303...

Mebbe I try Ragg Topp next time.

Nothing detailing related. But I had the windows re-tinted. The old tint was horribly faded. That last place did a terrible job and used the cheap stuff. 20% rear, 35% front.

detailed a friends 2016 gmc canyon pickup. another dealer `lets hide all the scratches with a good glazing" that looked ok for awhile. it actually looked decent until I got it today for a pbl coating. it was heavily swirled up from head to toe. megs 105 on orange pads and followed up with pb ssr2 and a final coat of essence on white pads. topped it off with pbl surface coat just as the fl. afternoon rains started. the owner was happy.

Gave the car a wash with Meguiar`s Hyperwash and used the following Rupes duo. Touched up some areas with the paint sealant that the tint guy compromised with some sort of alcohol mixture that degraded the sealant. It didn`t remove it completely but it was degraded quite a bit. But a quick spray and buff and it was all good.
