I think red is overdone on black, but blue in the right shade looks awesome. I`ve thought about doing a color similar to this on my ST.

Agreed. Red can be overdone but its kind of the standard i suppose. Brembo red status striving, haha.

I see your idea of blue working better IMO bc you have the blue on the ford logo to match with. I dont see any blue on his vette so id personally go red (or even gloss back but i feel that defeats the purpose)...now blue vette, blue calipers=awseome like i saw on a fellow members ride.

Now of course its his car and we all have our opinions...mine are stock brembo red (more like pinkish after 7 yrs) & i love how they contrast against my black wheels especially when rolling...i am guilty of staring at others vehicles to see the red caliper in the reflection.

Black and red are the only colors on my car though (short of the yellow turn signals of course)

I`d go gloss black. The G2 kit get`s my recommendation. I would also paint those rotor hats black.

I went with the G2 caliper kit myself.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

A close friend finally got a new to him used impala.
we did a quick job on the car..pics limited my phone happened to be almost dead when we started

drove down to the coin op.
    Rinse, citris red heavy
    bdx on paint/glass
    Rinse
Drove home and showed him how to RW and used the cobra clay mitt.
Dp glass restorer and optiseal on glass
Pws, exp then d156 on lenses

Wanted to just put POXY on it and call it a night but he didnt have the time to wait for Poxy to cure.

I went with my duetto and 5.5 tangerine hydrotech pads with Poorboys Polish w/Sealant

Cleaned up the paint pretty good, smoothed it out-still LOTS of swirls but that will be for another day when i have proper time.

Topped PWS off with a quick spray and wipedown with D156 express spray wax

Sorry for the bad lighting. Really need to get some decent lights mounted.

Interior wiped down with Natural Look

Will need a full steam and carpet cleaning soon too.

Gave him some towels i dont like anymore and a gallon on premade uber rw at qd dilution so he has no excuse.

More to come eventually once i get it in for proper polishing.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Did a Waterless Wash on my daughters Escape. Washed it with HydroFoam last week but of course it rained and needed a touch up. Also cleaned the painted garage floors. These floors are now 11 years old and have held up amazingly well. That said, the area that the tire`s go over day in and day out were darker and you can see tire lines. I went over the whole floor with first a mop and some cheap car wash soap, then used some Megs APC and a stiff push broom. They looked a lot better but weren`t perfect.

I`ve watched this for the past two years and suspected it was just dirt as opposed to being worn out. I was laid up last year and couldn`t do a good clean up myself and had to rely on my kids. You know the old saying, "beggars can`t be choosers". Sat down on my stool today and took a stiff nylon brush and a bit of Ajax and scrubbed a 2 foot area of the tire stripe for about 60 seconds. It came as clean as the rest of the floor. I was too tired to do the whole floor up right as I`d already done a wash and some yard work as well as cleaned the floor.

I decided I`m going to try to scrub the "stripes" with a buffer and the Cyclo brushes instead of renting a big floor buffer. Hope Ray reads this, what happened to my stiff Cyclo (black) brush? You were going to intercept my last order and send me one black brush instead of 2 white ones. Just pulling the rope Ray, I know you`ve been busy. Going to order 2 of them shortly. I`m betting this is going to be an easy fix for this problem.
