    What`s your profession?

I was speaking with somebody yesterday who is familiar with my detailing work. He was unaware of the other things that I do. So I started thinking. What is it that everybody else does here beside sharing the passion of detailing?

I guess I`ll start. I was a quality assurance engineer with ISO procedure training. I was looking for a challenge. I joined a restoration outfit that did competitive Concours restorations.

I was taught and learned every aspect from teardown to final assembly. My specialties are final block sanding, final finishing, and Fiberglas repair. I was hired in for my experience in Detailing, show representation, and placement.

These all all are now my current full-time profession with the addition of collection management as Concours.John.

It would be interesting to know
what others do, especially when their responses to questions may be related to experience in their field.

Just a thought. Could be a poll as an ad on to the previous "pro, part time, hobby" poll
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

    Re: What`s your profession?

I work for Polaris Industries as a forklift operator in the shipping department. Took a few years of savings to buy my current ride which is how I got the detailing bug. I don`t consider myself a forum junkie but it seems when I find a new hobby I seem to find a forum for it and spend a lot of time on it.

    Re: What`s your profession?

U.S. Navy, Submarine Navigation Electronics Technician First Class. I have been active duty for 16 years. I have done two sea tours on two different class submarines (637 Sturgeon class, and 688i Los Angeles class). I`ve been all around the world including doing a tour in Afghanistan working hand in hand with the U.S. Army. I currently serve as a Field Service Engineer repairing Radars, Inertial Navigation Units, and Interior Communications.
I`ve been a car guy all my life, and have built a few toys myself over the years. As another poster mentioned, detailing clears my head and allows me to relax.

I farm here in Iowa. I raise corn, (NOT SWEET CORN) clear hilum high protein soybeans, and hay. Yes my hay crop was good this year but I sold to much to soon for not enough money. The soybeans wernt bad at 36 bushel per acre. Some corn wasnt good at all, 55-65 bushel per acre when normal is 120-160 bushel per acre.

    Re: What`s your profession?

Retired Journeyman lineman after 36 years in the trade. High line, underground, distribution, trouble shooter and sub-stations switching. Good trade but glad to be retired and in some sort of health. I am not a junky but enjoy all the detailing knowledge I can learn on the forum and advise from the members.
