Question Could we influence car manufacturing?

In this age of Nano everthing I was wondering why car makers can`t produce a trim that doesn`t fade or turn white when touched by wax. I`m not sure how many of us there are but I do know we probably know a lot more about thier products (cars) then they think we do. We could have a car improvement suggestion box were we could drop off ideas or questions about cars in general or brand specific. Then these ideas could be forwarded to the automotive industry say by someone as talented in writing as Todd on our behalf. If you have any ideas that can build on this concept I would like to read your ideas.

The more the customers have to repair/replace the more dinero they make. This is over all industries world wide.

Re: Could we influence car manufacturing?

I would like to see a double tap feature on power seats that will automatically move the seat all the way to the full forward/back position without having to waste 30 seconds every time I need to move it.

There are a lot of things I notice that could be changed in a small way that would make detailing much easier. I think auto makers are more interested in keeping the cost down than in making the vehicle easy to clean, especially since only 1% of the population would notice the difference.

I know its a stretch but built in
Jacks to raise the whole vehicle like Indy cars. While up all wheels free spin. Would make wheel wells and wheels much easier.
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

Would be nice but I don`t see it happening.

I have worked for an automotive supplier for the past 12 years. I work directly with the oem engineering community and they have much bigger fish to fry.

    This.

Cars are made to break, do you think if they started making these fade resistant fenders, and dent proof bodies, and indestructable engines that they would continue to make the money they make? My friend just got done replacing 1 button for one of the windows in his car, guess how much it cost him? $400 just for that one part. It is the same reason why we have to replace light bulbs every year. They can make them to last forever, but that would be unprofitable...

If we don`t care enough to try to get them to improve thier products who will the guy across the street who hasn`t washed his car since he bought it. If we just lay down and settle for crap then were getting what we deserve.
