I was wondering if anyone uses or knows if a pan cake air compresser would work for a mobile detail set up ?

You wouldn`t see 130psi or anything, but yes it would work. Some units might be a little loud for some neighborhoods though so you would want to keep that in mind. Some cheaper compressors are ungodly loud and obnoixious.
I seen a porta cable one on craigslist for 80.
Porter Cable makes a good compressor, and $80I is a good price if its in good shape. Id check it out, listen to it run, etc. If it fits your needs, Id say it would be fine.
do they put out enough psi to blow out vents , between seats and exterior cracks ?
It will do that just fine, but pancake compressors are small and dont hold a lot of air all at once, so if your doing a lot of blowing for any period of time, youll find yourself waiting for the compressor to catch up. Thats wouldnt stop me from buying one as long as I was planning to run pnumatic tools or paint guns on it.
what would yall suggest as a good air compressor ?
Would one of these little compressors be good enough to blow out MF pads between sections? I use my air blower but seems like it does ok but seems like it could be cleaned better if had more air
