    spot or flood

i made a sun gun from a 12v drill with a 50watt halogen bulb. now i;m looking at a solux bulb but not sure if i need a 10 degree spot or 36 degree flood light.... help a fellow detailer, which would work better for inspecting paint.

I would only be guessing but I would say the "spot". It should focus the light in one point instead of over a larger area. But at only 2-3 feet off a panel I don`t think either would be a bad choice.
