I usually use Tarminator, but I`ve been using Surf City Garage`s Grime Destroyer and am liking a PB Bug Squash sample I got.

I haven`t found dawn to strip all LSPs. However, in follow up testing, the bug and tar removers I tested did significantly reduce or eliminate water beading so follow up waxing is always a good idea.

Did I somehow miss the Optimum Power Clean part of the test?

    Re: Bug Remover Comparison Test

This was a great write-up and it reminds me that I`m going to need something for bug and tar removal soon as I want to get out of the city and do some country driving.

Does anyone know how BF AIO All Purpose Clearner, at full strength, will do for bug removal compared to these tested products that are bug and tar specific?

    Just curious, Jim

good info todd. one item that did not make the list is duragloss #471 bug remover. this is a gem for bug removal. will not strip sealant/wax. i made sure to include it in my last order. (should have got more).

and bug season is here! i have a jeep sitting in the driveway waiting for bug removal from the week. here is the link for a great product.....

BF AI1 AIO is pretty potent against exoskeletal remains. I haven`t tried it directly against the products in this test, but it does extremely well (for me) against Florida`s finest.

Only in northern California. I have proof, they even wrote a song about it!

    Re: Bug Remover Comparison Test

In response to the people asking about LSP removal, I have tried PB Bug squash (both in 1:3 and full str), Tar X, Megs APC+, P21S TAW, and Diamondite Bug Eraser. All of these stripped the LSP in some form or another. some more, some less.

The only products that have not done it, is soap and water with the bug sponge and Auto Finesse Citrus Power. I have not tried the 1Z product yet.

    Great test Todd!
And yes... the love bugs are definitely out in full. I had to blow off the front porch yesterday as it had a nice coating of black over the top of it.. blergh
