Has anyone purchased zaino and not been impressed with it. Has anyone bought it and then went back to a carnuba. I`m still trying to choose between one grand and zaino.
Thanks

I have spent a lot of dough in recent years on detailing products.
In 1978 when I got my first car I got hooked on keeping it nice.
I find it a very relaxing hobby.
Four years ago a friend who just bought a viper tried to sell me on
Zaino to use on my new volvo. I told him that I would like to wait a little while to see how Zaino holds up over time and feedback.
Well three months ago I got the itch and threw it on. At first I said
this is " shine nirvana ". Then over the next days and weeks I noticed the following :
1- All cars have spiderwebbing [in direct sunlight] to some extent
and I found that Zaino actually amplifies this spiderwebbing.
2- On sunny days when I looked at the top of the car the shine
looked dead or hazed or something.[ sides looked great ]
3- On overcast days the finish looked dead. There is a definitely
a different look between a Zaino`ed car and a carnauba`ed
car on hazy and overcast days.
Because of these 3 issues I decided to top the Zaino with
carnauba and see what happens. Well I found it did help with
the above issues and looked very nice but I still thought
this combination method had a strange look I could not put
my finger on. I said enough is enough.
So yesterday I did a Clay, Cleanse, Omega Glaze, Blitz and at
different intervals I looked at the finish and found that there is
definitely a different look between the polymer world and the
carnauba world. As for me, I prefer the carnauba look.
How can I discribe it. Well if you take a look at new digital TV technology and the old analog you may notice that the contrast
and lines in the old world look warm and blend into each other
very softely. On the new digital technology [for instance
watching a DVD] the lines are very harsh. I have good eyes
and I can actually see the stairstepping of these lines which
drives me crazy. Also years ago, there was a debate in the
audiophile world that the old tube technology had different
sound than the new solid state technolgy. I`m not an audiophile
so maybe some one can describe it a little better.
So what I am describing above is what I found between the carnauba and polymer worlds. To me the polymer look is artificial and the carnauba look is living. Something like the boy in " AI "
the movie. Maybe someday we will have no choice but polymer
if we keep messing up this planet but till then I have decided
to settle down on One Grand.
Why, here are a few reasons :
1- I love the look of Omega and Blitz. Has a different look.
2- I have heard from a reputable person that if you peek
into the trailers at Pebble Beach you will find
One Grand products tucked away in many of them.
3- Possibly the best car painter in the world uses Blitz.
4- The only products that touch Jerry Seinfeld`s collection.
5- Five years straight, OG was the detailing supplier for
Queen Elizabeth and the Royals.
Well these are just my findings and everyone has different
tastes. Just like everyone has different taste in food.

If you really want to go for a sealant (ie UV protection, longer lasting etc) that has almost the same reflective qualities as a wax, try Blackfire. It has much more depth than Zaino. I`m not sure if its quite as durable as Zaino, but it is definitely longer lasting than wax and has UV protection.
I have really come to appreciate Zaino`s look though. The compromise on depth is very slight and the ease of use and durability more than make up for that. But it really depends on which properties are more important to you. If you want the best shine possible and nothing else matters....try Souveran or Blitz with some IMHG....or OG if thats your cup of tea....

Here`s a hypothetical thought: Even if I didn`t like Zaino and wanted to go back to carnauba, I would still use some kind of sealant before the carnauba goes on. Carnauba by itself offers no protection from UV or sun damage, which is very important in the hotter climates. So, my theory is this, if you really want to go back to carnauba, at least use some sealant under it i.e. Zaino, Klasse, BF, etc so your car stays well protected AND giving you the carnauba look as well. Or, for an even simplier solution, like bigboy suggested, would be to try BlackFire, Platinum, or Liquid Souveran all of which are supposed to offer a carnauba shine with polymer durability and protection. Basically, what I`m getting at is, I would never go back to using strictly carnauba and nothing else under it.
Ok I was online and looking for training and Mobiledetailguy.com came up have anybody ever heard of it or took the training ? Thanks
What does certification mean? Pay me $1000 and I`ll give you a piece of paper?!?!?!?

I live in ga but I`m going to go ahead and take rennys training I havent heard any complaints about that one and thanks again y`all
I went to a seminar yesterday in CA and learned a ton about polishing, wet sanding, and headlight restoration. Thanks to notables like David Fermani for being there. Also got to meet Kevin Brown. Heck of a guy! Thanks Kevin!!!!!!!!!!
I hear voices in my mind and you’re worried that you’re the freak.
